Well it’s the morning after the weekend before, and what a weekend!
BritMums Live (a blogging conference for parents in London) was nothing like I expected. I’ll be honest, it’s been hard to know what to expect after Cybher.
Like Cybher I got the most out of it when I started to relax a little and actually listen to what people had to say. I again came away thinking blogging for me, is all about going my way. It reaffirmed what type of blogger I am.
The community though very varied is bound by this need to create, write, share and debate.
Even though I knew who was speaking, I was blown away by how professional but unassuming those key speakers were.
The Ana Mum Diary is my project, but it is most importantly for my family. I have goals and ambitions and I want to be able to look back on The Ana Mum Diary in 10, 20 years time and be proud of it.
BritMums Live in Photographs
My hightlights included:
- The train ride.
- Sarah Brown and building natural circles of support.
- Julia Boggio and the Dirty Dancing video, so touching.
- Meeting new and old friends.
- Forming the G.L.A.M squad.
- Chatting into the night.
- Arriving in the Taxi on the second day with Ms Molly Louise AND Katie Hill, and not once mentioning sticky-back plastic.
- Being told I was only ‘just’ a pear shape by the stylist from TK Maxx
- The ACER photo booth (post to follow)
- Penny from A Residence winning the Video award, my heart filled with pride.
- Bloggers Keynote, laughing and crying…falling a little bit in love with Ministry of Mum.
- Smuggling friends into hotel rooms.
- Drinking wine from mugs.
- Laughing.
Thank you for reading

So glad to hear it all went so well, and it was lovely to read everyones updates on Twitter as it was all going on too. I was there in spirit! The Bloggers Keynote is really special isn’t it, I remember ending up in tears at Cybermummy when someone read a particularly brilliant post. Here’s to next year!
Amanda Cottingham says
The keynote posts were incredible, laughing and crying so much, so close together was not good for my mental health!
Liz Burton says
Did I not comment on here? I thought I did earlier.
Oh well, nevermind because I only saw the pics and didn’t see the brilliant highlights.

Amanda I have so much to thank you and Becky for, you have both kept me afloat when I have been close to giving up this blogging lark. You’ve put up with me being grumpy and cheered me up so much. I love your photo collage so much, I feel really blooming hounoured to be on it, and to have met you. The Ana Mum Diary is amazing. GLAM sounds very intriguing!

Oh Penny, I was so chuffed to see you and Gemma win. When you read The Majestic Bee, it was just so beautiful. It made me think of my Dad.
You and Becky have helped me in more ways than you will ever know! Thank YOU! 🙂

Fantastic round up and love the photos (though slightly concerned that this is the second photo of me posing with topless men in the same number of weeks!)
Amanda Cottingham says
Ha ha that’s exactly what I was thinking. Thank you am, for an amazing weekend….you are the most beautiful lady, both in and out 🙂
Jen Stanbrook says
It sounds like you had an amazing time. Love the photo collage, and drinking wine out of mugs!!

It was great Jen, took so many photographs, but looking back, I should have taken many more!

I had a reassessment too, not just about blogging but a few other things. It was good to spend time being ‘me’ for a change and I can’t wait for the next one.

It was lovely to see you Amanda – and thank you so much for introducing me to Penny and other bloggers so that I can now go to events knowing that lots of other friends will be there 🙂
