Nottingham Contemporary : Kids Get Arty with Francis Uprichard

| September 21, 2012 | 3 Comments

This is my third post about a brilliant day out we had at the Nottingham Contemporary.

The first post being about the Contemporary Cafe.

The second about the Francic Uprichard Exhibition we visited.

The third of which, I am linking it up to the wonderful Kids Get Arty linkup with Red Ted Art.

Once we had walked around the exhibition and were inspired by the sculptures made by Francis Uprichard, we decided to give it a go ourselves.

So we went into the creating room at the Nottingham Contemporary and set to work.

We were given a stick and some coloured salt dough, and told to use our imaginations.

We were there creating for such a long time, it was great fun!  We had lots of ideas, but this was the one we liked the best.

I tried to play on perspective here, but the lighting isn’t the best unfortunately.

Here is the finished sculpture.

It was incredible seeing how many other people had been involved over the summer:

Well we were so proud of our creations, we went into the world largest photo booth (also at The Contemporary) so we could share them!

Thank you for reading

I love art galleries and now as the girls get older I can’t wait to take them too. Mum’s not far from Nottingham (Newark) I might book in to see her and take the girls along
