Baby Annabell : Review and a Short Video
Do you know, this really is the most gorgeous baby doll. Miss A (3) has never had a proper baby doll, and when I unpackaged it, we were both oohing and ahhing at her. It struck me, just how much Baby Annabell feels like a real baby, she has a ‘real’ weight. It’s also the way Baby Annabell’s legs and arms move separately to the body that gives it that true to life experience. Miss A had recently met our friends, new born baby, and loved it so much. She really too little to hold a real baby though and since we came back home from seeing him, she’s been asking lots of questions. Baby Annabell came at the perfect time to help with those.
We have been playing with her for around two weeks now. I always try to give toys like this some time to test, as I want to be able to wholeheartedly recommend them. This is certainly one that I can. It is well made and has already provided us with hours of entertainment, so great value for money.
Here is what Baby Annabell is all about in more detail:
What comes in the box:
- The Baby Annabell Doll, clothed in a pink romper suit, with a hat.
- The bottle (in the shape of a sheep)
- Dummy
- Comforter
You need to insert 4 AA batteries, which is really simple to do, you do need a screwdriver though. After two weeks, Baby Annabell hasn’t shown any signs of running out.
Once you have inserted the batteries, there is a switch that you need to switch to the ‘ON’ position.
She is very interactive, babbling and gurgling away, so very convincing. So much so that when Miss A plays with her she really gets into character talking and singing to her baby. I think this clip of her playing shows it really well, and made us all chuckle.
You can fill the bottle with water, and she really does drink the water, making a sucking motion with her face, and noises, opening and closing her eyes. Sometimes, but not lots (phew) she cries real tears and its then that she needs to be winded, with little taps to her back. When it was sleepy time Miss A, loved gently laying her down and stroking her forehead sometime singing a little lullaby, so Baby Annabell drifted to sleep yawning.
So you can see there are lots of functions, its a great aid to encourage role playing. Available at lots of toy stores for approximately £45 currently, and is recommended for children 3 years and upward.
There are lots of accessories available too, including outfits and high chairs, even a Baby Annabell brother.
A great addition to any Christmas list we think.

Loved the video, what a sweet little girl. I have 2 boys and 3 nephews and none of them would want for baby dolls so not sure why I even read this…….but now I want one for myself haha!
That made me chuckle, I think it may be for the same reason that I want it….I’m broody!

Oh my what a fabulous video, your little girl is completely adorable!! We love Baby Annabell in this house…though Daddy does need reminding to replace the batteries occasionally!
So far, the batteries are going strong….which has amazed me, the amount she is being played with! Thanks for the comment x
