Warm and Cosy Ideas

| November 7, 2012 | 5 Comments

I’m not wholly against the wintry months, but would much rather being wrapped up extremely warmly. When it is very cold, I have a fantastic coat I reviewed last year, that is like being enveloped in a silk duvet. I give it up kicking and screaming in spring!

I’m exactly the same at home. I can think of nothing more lovely, than to be sat by the fire with my family, watching a good film a roaring fire and some snugly blankets.

As regular readers of my blog know, I am currently refurnishing my living room.  I’ve lots more to show you, as it is going very well. The final area that I need to look at though, is my fireplace. So I have been seeking out ways of dressing this area, and thought I would share with you some of the ideas out there.

I know this is a little  A LOT crazy, but I love it! A wall covered in books you say….well I know it’s mad but it just works!

I love the simplicity of the design below, there is something so beautiful about candle light.  The use of glass and reflective surfaces, it’s something I would like to do.

I just love this grouping, and it would work really well in my living room.

This appeals to my love of order, and the mix of vintage and new is exactly the look I go for. I love the simple string of photographs, and where else would you store your glitter ball?

Lots to think about, and the plan I am still trying to keep in my mind, is to bring light into the living room.  So far that is really working, I cant wait to reveal the next stage to you. Watch this space!

Thank you for reading

Love the bigger glitter ball but the books and stags head…madness!!!

  3. Loving the madness here, but it’s like fashion on the catwalk, it gets watered down by the time it hits the high street so there are lots of pieces around like the stags head and glitter ball that look… well, not quite so crazy ;)
