I was given some very intriguing nail polish to review this week. Little BU, created by Patricia Dente Haimes is a nail polish (£9.95) made especially for children. At first I wondered why such a product had been formulated, but actually now I have read a little bit more about the product think its a great idea.
We all know that little girls like to copy what their Mums do. I remember, wearing my Mums high heels, and lipstick. When I get ready in the morning, Miss A and N love sitting on my bed with me, and watching me putting on my make-up, sneaking the blusher brush and copying the way I had been applying it.
So this, I think is just one step further, but with Little BU you know that your child is wearing something that is non toxic, water based, and will simply wash off.
I experimented with the Little BU nail polish today on both Miss A (nearly 4) and N (aged 10) to see how easy is was to apply, and wash off. It had a small and very usable brush so was very easy to apply. The colours were vibrant, and very shiny once dry, quite amazing really for something that is water soluble. Miss A had a bath and Miss N a shower, and the polish in both cases came off, with no trace to be found!
I think it is completely up to the individual parent whether you would use a product like this. I personally think that it is fun, and I can imagine my eldest daughter Miss N excitedly using it with her friends at her next sleepover. I think I would feel relaxed that I could clean up any spillages easily too!
