Not my usual review, but as we are keen DIY and home improver’s, this is an essential bit of kit. I also saw this as my opportunity, to try to reduce the amount of *things* we have in our ever-growing tool box, most of which I’m sure we don’t need, and seem to spend forever trying to find.
Worx QBit 4V Cordless Li-Ion Screwdriver : RRP: £39.99 WORX (Argos)
This is like a small handheld drill. It feels well-built, fairly heavy and substantial. Not too heavy though, as that would have really put me off. Within the drill (so no more lost screwdrivers) are six different heads. Now in our house, Tall Dad does most of the putting together of items that arrive, unless I’m alone then I get to have a go. I don’t know about you, but I like to have everything to hand, once I’m doing a job. Tall Dad on the other hand seems to have an amazing ability of sitting down to a job with nothing.
Here is how it usually goes…
Tall Dad ”Can you get me the blue and red screwdriver, you know Gidders, the only with the wavy notch?”
Me (the DIY’er formally known as Gidders) ”Erm…this one?”
Tall Dad ”No, wavy notch”
Me looking at the HUGE tool box of screwdrivers, most of which have red and blue handles. I close my eyes and randomly pick one, to hand to him.
Tall Dad ”Yep, that’s the one…no that doesn’t work, is there a smaller one there?”
Me muttering under my breath ” what did you last slave die of”
Tall Dad shouting to me ” No medium… blue and red medium, no notch”
Me ”Grrrr”
Recognise the scenario?
The Worx QBit™ is so convenient however, you really can just concentrate on the task at hand. It has a handy built-in LED light makes it easier to work in dark areas and a 4V MaxLithium battery. This so far, has lasted the two weeks we have had it, and testing it again this morning it’s still going strong. Definitely one I recommend this one, won’t have every bit that you need, but a great selection.
I’m including this YouTube video too, as it made me chuckle :
