I’ve been on the look out for a new chopping board, so I thought I would share with you, a few of my favourites that I have found on my travels.
First up from Ella Doran :
The Camera Stack Chopping Board – 19.50
I’m a little obsessed with vintage cameras, so I loved this image printed on the chopping board. Its hand-made in the UK and made from melamine coated hard wood. – 36.5 x 25.5cm
Next from the Eno studio :
This chopping board with tray is available in the UK from the Made in Design website. The medium one is £30.30, made from china and maple. I like that concept of chopping and then pushing the contents into the tray. Dimensions : L 28,5 cm x W 14,5 cm x H 5,5 cm
Heals
The colour and design of this Marimekko Kukkuluuruu Chopping Board is a big wow! Designed by Sanna Annukka, the Kukkuluuruu pattern has been inspired by the wise forest animals of Finnish folk tales. The only thing that worries me, is that this board is made from plywood hmm? – Dimensions :34.5 x 24.5cm.
The Chopping Block Co.
I love the Chopping Block Co website, as its dedicated to the highest quality boards.
You can choose for this chopping board to be made in Oak, Maple, Cherry, Walnut and Iroko. Its solid, sturdy and beautifully made –Dimensions (approx) 25cm x 15cm x 3.5cm. For no extra cost they will engrave with upto 9 letters. Priced at £45. I think I’d go for ‘Cotters’.
Tom Dixon
This one is worthy of leaving out on display I think, I bet its very tactile. Its £70, made from white stone, it would definitely be hevey. I also love the brass round insert. Suitable to use to chop and get your rolling pin out for – Diameter 24.00 cm Height 1.5 cm Width 42.00 cm
So that’s my selection…what do you think?
Disclosure : Nothing to declare move along please….
