When we originally planned our kitchen, we made sure that we had space for a wine cooler. I’ve always wanted one, perfect for entertaining and whenever you have a bulging fridge. Think parties, celebrations and at Christmas, or every day use, so you can store your very own wine, fizzy drink or beer collection. It’s so simple to transfer wine, and other drinks into, freeing up space in the main refrigerator. Well, unfortunately budget and space constraints meant we couldn’t have the wine cooler in the end, however now we’ve been using the kitchen for while, we realised that the extra cupboard we got instead, really only encouraged me to collect even more china. You see I’m a little bit of an addict when it comes to dinnerware. So we have booked for a kitchen fitter to return, to fit the Husky HN7 Reflection Dual Zone Wine Cooler( £269) in the next couple of weeks.
It’s being used as a table top wine cooler at the moment, because to be honest I couldn’t wait to start using it, but usually it was be positioned under the counter. If you have the space, its simple to install, just slide into place, and plug-in and you are ready to go. The reflective glass to the front really does look great, and bounces light around the room, and gives it very smart slick appearance.. You can see above it’s a fairly large size, big enough to fill a full size bottom kitchen cupboard. You do need to allow 50mm ventilation all around the wine cooler.
With the two zones, each with a separate door, it gives you lots of flexibility to cool items down to a different temperature. You can fit up to 24 standard 75 cl bottle in the cooler, 16 in the lower compartment. The temperature is so flexible, that you can even store red wine, which has a recommended temperature of 14-18 c.
The Husky wine coolers control panel is at the top of the cooler, and it automatically locks after 12 seconds. So no little fingers can change the temperature whilst your aren’t looking. You can set the temperature and unlock the panel, by pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously for three seconds. Each zones temperature can be set independently. There is an interior light, but this can be turned off, and will automatically turn off if you forget.

We’ve tested it out with both white and red wines, this weekend. We enjoyed Lindemans Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc with friends, as well as a
Lindemans Bin 99 Pinot Noir 2012 with a gorgeous cheese board. We were both impressed with the wine cooler, the temperature and the wine *huge grin* Overall we are delighted the with the fridge from Husky who are a British retailer.
I’d love to know if you have a wine fridge, or have thought about getting one?

WOW! I’m so coming over to your house for a glass or two! Love the idea of a wine fridge, especially over the Christmas season when there’s never enough room in the fridge anyway! It looks really smart too!
