I am determined to look after myself, my mind, body and soul from now on, and this is a subject I’ve been writing about on the blog a lot this year. Here are two more posts about my journey so far:
Small Changes a happier healthier you.
I do feel quite self-indulgent in a way writing these posts. However I feel that I have for too long not cared for myself as much as I should. So for the past five months I have been making a real effort to make positive changes to my life. A big change has been I have lost weight, I’m down one dress size and I definitely feel lighter in myself in many ways.
Another area I am working on is my teeth believe it or not. I’ve been having a few problems, and having just returned from the dentist again this morning, I wanted to cover a couple of things I have been using. First up is something so simple, but for some reason I’d not used or even seen them before, and its (see below) TePe brushes. Since I’ve been using them my teeth have felt so much cleaner. I’ve also treated myself to a Regenerate kit and toothpaste. This is something I’m using to help with enamel erosion, and I do feel there has been a change for the better.
Now I’ve always been a bit of skin care addict, well for the last 10 years or so anyway. I visited my local Bobbie Brown counter and was chatting to them about my skin. I came away with the two products pictured above, which I love. A cleansing oil and buffing grains, both of which you can use separately or together. The oil dissolves surface impurities and make-up without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. I use it in the morning to wake up and refresh my skin, or at night as a soothing end to a long day. If I need to exfoliate, I add a small amount of the Japanese adzuki bean powder to help remove dry surface patches and encourage skin cell renewal. It definitely leaves my face soft, smooth and glowing.
I’ve also been testing out a miniature version of the Foreo Luna 2 I mentioned HERE. Can you spot it? Its the blue round item in the centre of the image. You use it to massage your face, apply some product first and then turn it on as it vibrates. It’s the smallest in the Foreo range and called Play, kinda like a macaroon in size an shape. Definitely something I’m going to be packing into my suitcase on my next trip because of its size. The LUNA play is a fun and affordable intro to the skincare benefits that come from T-Sonic cleansing.
I’ve also been continuing with a couple of things that I spoke about in my previous posts, exercise, herbal and green teas, both with a little twist though!
I’ve dusted off my bike, pumped up the tires and been trying to use this instead of public transport. I’m still not the most confident bike rider on the road, I think because I don’t drive it makes me a little hesitant. I’m loving my trips out however on the nearby bike path along the canal, this has definitely been good for my soul and clearing my noisy head!
I’m still loving (I should admit I am addicted to) my new stash of Twinings teas, you can read more about my thoughts on the range HERE. I’ve got to say in the last week the weather has been so gorgeous that I’ve been making iced tea for both myself and Nia with fresh fruit in it, and its so delicious! The spice of Twinings freshly picked taste root ginger is the perfect pick me up in this weather.
How to make iced tea.
It really is so simple! We left one of the Twinings teabags in hot water in a mug for around 4 minutes, before taking it out. It may need a little sugar or honey at this stage if you prefer it to be sweeter. We allowed the tea to cool a little more, then topped the mixture with lots of ice. We also added some sliced strawberries, but you could add whatever fruit you prefer. Doesn’t it look pretty? It was certainly an absolutely delicious drink!
My next update will be in a couple of months time. Is there anything you have been doing to feed your soul? Small changes to your life to become happier and healthier? I’d love to know if you have, please leave me a comment below.
