If you feel like ditching the dreary weather and heading somewhere a little bit more vibrant this Autumn, Italy is your answer. With its rustic charm and tasty food, it would be the perfect location for a luxury getaway for any food lover.
Italy has so much to offer and there is so much to see, and it would be even better if your whole family could tag along and you could all experience it together. Why not start by looking at luxury Tuscany villas which would be a perfect indulgence to get all the family together. Tuscany sits at the North West side of Italy and many visitors flock to Tuscany to explore the extraordinary countryside, rolling hills, and the picturesque seacoast.
Tuscany is famous for its fantastic food and rich red wines. From September to December, there is a harvest of olives, chestnuts, grapes and mushrooms, so you can find a number of events which will be based around these types of foods.
In and around Tuscany there are many cafes and restaurants which serve traditional Tuscan dishes. From anything from fettunta to potato tortelli, there will always be something to tempt your taste buds.
If you want to test your cooking talents why not take an authentic cooking class in the heart of Florence? You can learn how to create the perfect pizza or gelato, all from scratch!
Food and history will always be the main focus with any Italian holiday, and it will be a trip you and your children will always remember. Tuscany is a location which is really child friendly with some fantastic attractions which are great for everyone. Prehistoric Park is a popular family attraction you must visit. It was created when a number of fossils were found in the area – it is a great trip out for any dinosaur lover!
The Caves and Grottos in Tuscany would be a perfect family day out. Throughout the mountain ranges, there are some breath taking underground caves, which hold place to ancient stalactites and stalagmites. You will be stunned by beautiful underground lakes and waterfalls, just remember to bring your camera.
Tuscany is a charming place, filled with food, wine and history and makes a perfect location for a family getaway.

We love Italy!! We have been traveling with the kids since they were born, but Italy was their first international destination. That trip we saw Rome, Bologna and area, and the Amalif coast. What wonderful experiences we have had!! Tuscany is on the list of places we want to take the kids in the future!
Travel is such a great way to show the kids that their way of doing things is not the only way. We are a global community and children we have a chance to travel are able to really internalize those experiences. I’ve made destination specific reading lists and we read and watch movies about art, culture, food, and history before we travel. This gives the kids a foundation to build upon when they travel. It is also great fun and I always learn something new myself!
Love your ideas on Tuscany….I’m daydreaming now. 🙂
