Plenty Super Strong Kitchen Roll : Seeing is believing!

Plenty Super Strong Kitchen Roll : Seeing is believing!

Plenty Strong Kitchen roll

It really is interesting, the life of the blogger, never knowing what the next email or phonecall will bring. When I received an email about Plenty Super Strong Kitchen Roll, I simply thought well it can’t be THAT different can it? I am a little bit obsessed with kitchen l roll though, and like to think of myself as a bit of an aficionado. So said I would give it a try, and let them know my thoughts.

I was more than a little surprised when a box of shopping arrived along with the new Plenty Super Strong Kitchen Roll.  Chocolate, tea and all the ingredients to make rice crispy cakes with the girls. Thank you Plenty!

Well I hurriedly decided to put the kitchen roll through its paces.  Right off the bat it completely out performs any kitchen roll I have used before.  The weave seems to be more like a cloth than paper,a rougher feeling too, it goes an amazingly long way.  I’ve tried it on my kitchen work surfaces and windows, I even gave them a go to clean the bath, brilliant to use every time.

The girls asked if they could give it a try.  Never one to turn down an offer of help with cleaning, I gave them a really mucky job, that I knew would be a disaster normally with ordinary kitchen roll. So armed with just two sheets each of the kitchen roll, and a bowl of warm soapy water, they cleaned the very dirty trampoline.

They had great fun, and the kitchen roll did a great job. It’s a fairly big trampoline, and was very mucky, as it has been left out over the whole winter.   I was amazed they didn’t need any more than the two sheets. To be honest, I could have used them again for another job if I needed too.  The sheets didn’t  disintegrate and believe me they used a lot of water.

This really is the kind of product that you really do need to try. I actually think it would replace the need to buy cloths that some people use in their kitchens.  According to the UK Hygiene Council a quarter of these apparently a quarter harbour E.coli bacteria. Plenty Super Strong Kitchen Roll, had been a bit of a revelation to me, Kitchen roll really can be that different!

Cooking With Grapefruit : Wholemeal Breakfast Pancakes

Cooking With Grapefruit : Wholemeal Breakfast Pancakes

Whenever we go to Florida, we always go grab some pancakes for breakfast. Great for adult and children, you can have them many different ways. With syrup eggs and bacon, or fruit salad, which is my favourite.  They are so filling and perfect, if you are doing the parks all day, you don’t really need anything else to eat until much later in the afternoon.

So I was excited to try this recipe, as I haven’t ever either eaten or made wholemeal pancakes before.

They are simply delicious! I sprinkled them with a little light brown sugar when I served them.

Easy Weekend Lunch : Tuna Melt on Ciabatta

Easy Weekend Lunch : Tuna Melt on Ciabatta

Easy Weekend Lunches

I’m always on the look out for easy weekend lunches. The need to be quick and simple, but healthy filling and nutritious.

Here is my recipe for a tuna melt, which I served with a huge salad and lots of sliced orange and red peppers. It is delicious and super quick, a huge hit with all of the family.

You will need :

  • A can of tuna
  • 3/4 spring onion, or one small shallot. Very finely chopped.
  • Light Mayonnaise
  • 1 Small Ciabatta Stick
  • A handful of grated cheese
  • Lots of freshly ground black pepper and a little salt.
  • You can also add a dash of Tabasco, or paprika, if you would like it slightly spicy or smoky.

Method

Split the ciabatta stick, and toast both sides.

Open the can of tuna, drain and place in a bowl with the mayonnaise. Use your judgement, how much it needs, I use 4/5 tablespoons in mine usually. Add to this mixture the very finely chopped onion and seasoning. Combine this and then put the mixture on the toasted ciabatta.

Finally add the cheese, and place under the grill. It should be bubbling, when it is ready to serve.
