I have been looking at ways to add some more personality to the top of my stairs for some time. It didn’t ever seem to look complete. I have added cushions to add some colour, but really wanted to add something else to the walls. Its a big space though, so I thought it would be really expensive, as I wanted to use photographs that I had taken of the girls, but in a classic black frame, to echo the black in my canvas artwork.
In this post, I thought I would look at the different finishes available for laminate flooring and the rooms that would be suitable to use it in. Whilst researching this post, on the Carpet Right site, I was amazed at the different finishes that were available and the fantastic laminate flooring offers available.
This is my entry into the Debenhams Dream Bedroom competition as seen on the award-winning bloggers Annie of Mammasaurus and Jen from Love Chic Living.
When I saw the competition I thought it was the perfect opportunity to let my imagination run wild, and create something completely different to what I have already, which is very plain, creams and golds. I wanted something that had a background that was fairly neutral but modern white and grey, but with pops of colour and humour….something to aid me out of the bed even on the bleakest of mornings.

I decided that any self-respecting dream bedroom, needed a beautiful bed, so I went for a gorgeous Tennesee bedframe. Solid and well made, I think the colour gives a real anchor to the room. Of course I needed to go for a mattress too, and I spotted this amazing bargain mattress for less than half price and as both myself and Tall Dad suffer with a bad backs, this would be bliss to sleep on I’m sure! I added bedding, two sets, to make it easier for laundering. Then I needed to layer colour and texture to the bed, so some luxurious (2 of each) cushions, and a beautiful silk throw. I love the Pets roch pop soup cushion, and I thought it was important to add a bit of humour, and having just bought a puppy, very appropriate!
