One of the most important things when planning a room, is lighting. It’s important to layer light, using ambient or background lighting, task lighting for close-up work or accent lighting to highlight things in your room your want to shout about. Light, bright, comfortable, with a vintage but classic feel to it. I also wanted to add pattern and colour. This was my brief for my bedroom makeover. With the help of the DIY superstore B&Q and Silent Night I think I achieved just that. Here is the moodboard to give you a taster, and here is how it looked originally. It’s actually turned out much more of a spring like sunny room, than I imagined, and it seems so much more brighter, lighter, but feels cosy too.

Today I wanted to share with you my mood board for my bedroom makeover with B & Q. I’ve had great fun choosing how the bedroom was going to look, and I think I’ve captured the right feeling now.
My starting point was the rosewood wooden bed, furniture and a blind which I wasn’t changing. You can see it HERE. It did look too plain I thought, and an injection of colour or pattern would work well in there. I had also gone off the very orangey gold that was in the picture too.
