Blurb Review : Photobooks

Blurb Review : Photobooks

| October 12, 2012 | 13 Comments

Well the cold weather is definitely here, as the Autumn blows its burnt umber breath across the landscape. Today I received a beautiful and vibrant memory of summer though, and it definitely warmed me up inside, as I leafed through.

Blurb, is a company where you can make a beautiful book to either share or sell. I choose to make one that was a collection of over 100 photographs, from our fabulous holiday this year in Florida. The memories came flooding back as I turned each page.  It really does have the quality, and finish of a coffee table book that you would buy.  That’s exactly where its going to live, as I can’t wait to share this with family and friends as they visit.

There are so many options available, I wanted something that we could look back in years to come, and that is exactly what we got. The quality is outstanding.  We have made a photobook before, but not with blurb and the quality was not a patch on this one.  I had heard other bloggers raving about the service and quality of Blurb, and I can now see exactly what they mean.

The first step I would recommend, if you are using ordinary photographs, is that you spend some time editing them.  Create a separate file with the photographs that you want to choose on the desktop on your computer. Once you have done this log on to the Blurb site, download the Booksmart application, follow the instructions, and create your book.

I loved that I could personalise the book, with Walt Disney and Character quotes, to really give it a Disney flavour. I choose every detail right down to the materials used for the cover, and the type of paper used.

Thank you Blurb, for making my memories come to life!

Watch this space, as next week, I have £30 in vouchers for you to make your very own Blurb book.

Hello Canvas : A Review (There’s Been Tears)

Hello Canvas : A Review (There’s Been Tears)

| September 27, 2012 | 2 Comments

As part of the plan to do a little makeover of our living room, we were wanting to add a couple of new canvases on one of our walls, which had nothing on it as yet. It looks incredibly plain and boring!  I also wanted to try to add some of the colour that was in the new colour scheme.

Well, I was really lucky that a week ago I was contacted by Hello Canvas, who asked me to challenge the Hello Canvas team to produce an amazing canvas for The Ana Mum Diary. I immediately said yes and sent an image (taken on my iPhone in Florida) off to them. It’s an important photograph to us, as this was the first trip we had taken as a family of four, abroad. Also it was Miss A’s first time going to Disneyland and she absolutely loved it! Continue Reading

The Acer Photo Booth : Friendship

The Acer Photo Booth : Friendship

I had to share these photographs with you as I love, love, love them!

I’ve always liked the notion of (that is, if I ever get married again….just keeping you on your toes Tall Dad ;) )  I would have a wedding photobooth, for people to record the day in.  Whilst we were at BritMums Live we used the Acer photobooth and it was so much fun.  A welcome relief when you are shattered from all the information you are trying to take in and networking.  I love that I will now have these photographs as memories of the day. Huge thanks to the Acer team for letting us be silly in it.

I had already met Molly and Missie Lizzie B before, and consider them two of my ‘bestest’ online buddies. Actually that’s not true, its gone beyond that now, and I consider them my real life friends as well.  It was however, the first time I had met Gorami (as she is known on twitter) and well, we just clicked, it’s so lovely when that happens!

We also had some silly pictures taken…look she’s taller than me!

I also went in on my own on the first day…its true I’m never far away from my IPad!

I had such a fab time, a really big thank you to the BritMums team, and my lovely friends, for making it so special.

p.s. We  missed you Kay and Tracy.

p.p.s. I also missed the other Maid Marion’s!

Week 18 of my 366 Photography Project

Week 18 of my 366 Photography Project

| May 6, 2012 | 19 Comments

I’ve been having a little play of picmonkey this week.  I’m really impressed with all the options.  Miss N and I had great fun, adding mascara, spray tans and teeth whitening to photographs. It really is a fun app. Here are this week photographs.  It’s been all about feelings and senses for me this week. I think thats because we’ve been without Tall Dad all week, he’s been in Orlando wrestling Alligators at a conference.

Here are this weeks photographs:
