Its been a while since I joined in on the Listography. But I love my cookbooks with a passion. So had to give this one a go. Here are my grubby and very well used favourites.
Starting at my Number 1
My favourite, as is has lots of info in about growing the ingredients that you cook with, and I loved the TV series. It reminds me of summer and that gorgeous smell of home-grown tomatoes. Its had the most beautiful photography, and gorgeous doodles in.
Number 2
This was bought for me by my MIL, it’s invaluable as a reference point for good wholesome vegetarian cooking. I’ve cooked so many of the recipes in here. A firm favourite is Potato Boulangere, so delicious!
Number 3
Another well used cookery book. I’ve a couple of Nigella’s books, and I tend to read them like a book, from cover to cover. She writes in a usual style, which you have to get used to if you are actually cook from them. Her luki luki Yorkshire puddings are legendary!
Number 4
I know what you mean about the accent Kate! I actually won this book in a Tourism Ireland competition on Twitter. I am not the best baker, but this book has been great in helping me learn techniques.
Last but not least:
I bought this for Tall Dad, when we first moved in together, 13 years ago. It’s a brilliantly funny book. Full of shortcuts and cheats, that we both Tall Dad used lots!
Not a very unusual selection, but genuinely well used, and recommended!
I am linking this up to Kate takes 5 listography.
Thank you for reading

Some new names for me there, have got the Rachel Allen bake book myself and it also made my list! 🙂
I agree it’s a good book, with lots of nice easy recipes in.

Interesting. Must have a look through that Jamie book – although growing anything is a major challenge for me. Green fingered I aint. Don’t have any Nigella – not really sure why..

Thank you for the linky, it’s a great idea!

Just commented on yours, great selection!

Jamie and Rachel Allen seem to be the two most popular cooks in all the lists. I’ll have to look up Rachel as I’d never heard of her.
Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary) says

Great top 5! You’ve reminded me that I’ve always meant to get that Nigella one. Must put it on my wishlist now for sure.

Wow! We have a few authors in common but different books. I love Jamie’s Kitchen too but have found now we live in Singapore some of the ingredients are a bit hard to come by. Thanks for introducing me to a new author too!
