Well, as my youngest has just turned two, my days of nappies are coming to an end. This fills me with very mixed emotions, I really can’t believe, my baby isn’t a baby any longer, she a bona fide little girl!
With this in mind I am writing a post about my recent new love, my sewing machine! Shes a beauty, I’ve already named her Andi (after Mollie Ringwold in Pretty in Pink) but I digress.
I decided I needed something to bridge the gap of a huge changing bag full of everything but the kitchen sink – and believe me, my bag was always bulging full of just in case things! And something where I could put a couple of nappies, wipes and a few bags.
Well here comes the bit where I get to use my new toy.
I had some fabric left, and decided to make a mini tote bag, so I could keep these neatly in my handbag, whenever we went out.
It was really easy to make, just a straightforward running stitch all the way around, I used a more decorative stitch at the top, but that was just an experiment on the machine.
I didn’t want anything to close the bag, we all know how fast toddlers are, I needed to get in there quickly and easily. Plus I’ll hopefully only need it for the next 6 months so I could possible convert it into something else later.
So here it is the finished bag, with a little fabric rose and vintage button, just to jazz it up a little.
