I’ve decided this year alongside my blog I am going to do a 365 photography project, or is it 366…I think it is!!
I love this idea, the thought of a year-long project and the discipline it will take, will be good for me. It’s a great excuse to really to get to grips with my new camera too, thanks Tall Dad!
Which in turn will hopefully make me able to produce a really amazing bunch of memories for my family. Hopefully my photography might improve as well?
So I am writing this post more as a promise to myself (I’ll feel I can’t back down now) so here’s what I need to do:
1. Bring my camera everywhere…I’ve also got my phone for emergencies.
2. Make sure I remain varied. Whether it means I make sure I have at least one photo each week or fortnight that is of a completely different theme, trying to stretch myself.
3. Be disciplined, try to post once a day, but if you need to collect up each week of photographs to submit, this is ok too. If too busy don’t have to much of a backlog, I’ll start to begrudge the project.
4. Experiment!
5. Make time to read the instruction book!
6. Use photography programmes. (again experiment)
7..Follow your own rules!
So starting from the 1st of January The Ana Mum Diary 365 project, let the fun begin ;).

That’s great, we can encourage one another. Thought I could do a school run photo a month/fortnight. See how the views change through the yr?! What do you think?
mummiafelice says
That sounds lovely!

I’ve been on the fence of doing a 365 again. Or I should say starting one again. But I think you just pushed me off the fence into the realm of doing one. I know my photography got better when I did 4 months of shooting daily so it is time to do it again. Thanks for the inspiration.
theanamumdiary says
Thanks Matthew. Glad to help, though I’ve just had a look at you amazing blog and photography jeez!! If I could ever be that good!!

I’m going to do this too. I’ve been feeling that I don’t take enough photos of Bud and now I have a decent phone camera as my back up so the photos should be decent. I’m starting on January 1st too.
theanamumdiary says
Oh that’s great news, looks like there will be a few of us! I agree I don’t take enough photographs of my two either. A x
Lucie B says
Yay!!! Are you going to post them on your blog or on the wonderful @blipfoto?
It’s my 365th BlipBirthday on 2nd Jan!!
It’s a great way to remember a certain day with a photograph & you will improve your photography!
Yay for a new camera too!
Can’t wait for you to start! Xx
theanamumdiary says
Thank you Lucie. Very envious of you being in Cornwall!
I can’t promise my photographs will be as anything like good as yours, but really looking forward to it!
I think I’m going to put them on this blog, hope all the posts aren’t going to be too annoying though. Might need to post each photo in a week round up?
Yay for you completing a year!! Are you going to put it in a book?
A x
Lucie B says
I would say to post them every day & you then write what you felt that day too.
Have fun with it! Thank you for your kind comment on my photos xx

Hi Ana
I have just found your blog whilst searching for details about soda bread for St Patricks Day in Nottingham.
I really like your blog, its honesty its well written content.
I notice your keeness for photography so it maybe appropriate that you look on our nottinghamstpatricksfestival.org.uk website and consider entering the Photography competition and maybe the fancy dress as well. I really like the photos you took of the 2012 St Patricks Day.
I am a member of the voluntary Nottm St Patricks Day Festival organising committee and I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy the day with your family and celebrate your Dad’s birthday. We welcome people to get involved and maybe we may meet on the day. I may sometime explain to you why we need to charge the cost we do for Soda bread and shamrock – but basically the cost of the Festival is now about £22k and sponsorship and grant aid is going down so you can appreciate the maths and outcome.
Lets look on the bright side -this year we have the 15th St Patricks Festival Parade in Nottingham and the sun is shining so hopefully it continues so we can all enjoy the family day and take photos.
see you
Paul
