Well, its back, the I love Mondays blog post. I hope you have all had a fantastic Easter and are raring to go! If you’ve not come across ‘I Love Mondays’ before, let me explain a little about it.
Every Monday I write a post that includes some of the things that we love at The Ana Mum Diary. I’ve called it ‘I Love Mondays’ a kind of antithesis to the ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ hit by the Boomtown Rats. I plan on helping banish the Monday blues with beautiful things. I will virtual shop for your every need. Perhaps introducing you to something that you may have not seen or an online shop you have never visited before. You are in good hands, so sit back and grab a cuppa.
Today, I’m going to look at a something that I love with a passion, it’s a satchel. They come in all shapes, colours and sizes. I’m going to concentrate to the two main ones. I’ve divided them into the ‘School Satchel’ and the ‘Sophisticated Satchel’
There has been a resurgence in the satchel, in the last few years. I own a couple, one from each of these categories in fact. For me a satchel MUST have buckles, be made of leather and be able to be worn across the body.
So lets look at the examples:
The Sophisticated Satchel
First up is the more sophisticated satchel. You can find some great examples of these satchels on the Radley London site.
The Grosvenor – £289
A large size, satchel style bag, shown here in sand colour. Available in other colours, including watermelon, which is my favourite.
Holloway – £189
The colour shown is Hazelnut, a rich dark brown. Has magnetic fasteners, so no need to fiddle with buckles, handy huh?
The School Satchel
I have mentioned my love of school style satchels before in this post.
School satchels did only come in school colours of black and brown, and these do remain popular. Here is a classic one in red.
But there seems to have become more expressive and vivid examples recently. They are also really popular amongst fellow bloggers.
Metallic Union Jack – Starting from £109 (Zatchels)
The Kaleidoscope Satchel starting from £97 (Zatchels)
I’m loving this one, it would go with everything!
What do you think, are you a satchel lover like me?
Thank you for reading

What a great post! I loooove satchels! They are so convenient for everyday! You can use both your arms and still have full control over them! I am definitely a sophisticated satchel girl!

YAY! Sophisticated satchel lady. I think I’m a bit of both I think? But I’m not choosy, if someone else is paying 😉
Tracy says
Bit of both here too. I love the sophisticated look, so I look like a ‘grown up’ (hehe) but I can’t help but ADORE the fun Zatchels. Owning a Zatchel is actually on my bucket list 😉

I have a Cambridge satchel, its a pink one, and great for summer. But I’m loving the Zatchels. They are a local company to me too, so want to support them. I also love the satchel company, that the red one is from.

I have to admit that I have never really wanted a satchel, I had a school when I was about eight but a couple of those are seriously nice!
Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary) says
I’ll be using my pink one, at blog camp (it’s my blogging one for some reason) see if I can tempt you x
Ruth says
I’m not really a school satchel fan myself. But the Zatchels website has some lovely saddle bags which are much more my thing.
Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary) says
Yes, the saddle bags are lovely! I’ve tried to comment on your post Ruth, but wordpress.com is not letting me again 🙁
