I’m not a fan of New Year, I must admit I would much rather stay in, watch a film with a bottle of fizz and Tall Dad as my companions. As a lover of a Romcom for this kind of night in, I actually love the idea of watching New Year’s Eve movie with my hubby. It has all the ingredients of a romantic comedy ensemble piece.
Set in on New Years Eve in New York, it follows several married and single people on the the one night anything is possible!
The cast is pretty amazing, with the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Aston Kutcher and Sarah Jessica Parker, but there are many, many more. My favourite scene has got to be when Michelle Pfeiffer and Zac Efron are busting some moves together, very funny and I loved Michelle even more after watching it.
The basis of the film, is of people all over the world, getting together on just one night of the year to celebrate. Its often a little cheesy, but New Years is, isn’t is? I sometimes got a little confused where the story was taking me, but again I think that is usual with an ensemble piece of this type. I did enjoy it though, as it’s a feel good, throbbing heart kind of movie, and I think we should all watch more of those!
