I thought in this post I would talk a little bit about my families love of Florida, as this is reason why I am doing these posts.
Tall Dad and myself first went to Florida, on our Honeymoon. It was supposed to be a lazy beach half to the holiday, as we had also been Boston and New Orleans. It actually ended up being anything but this, as when we got there, there were red tides, making it impossible to spend much time on the beach. We then had a tropical storm (very nearly a hurricane) and no power, followed by the horrific news of September 11 attacks. Which I watched live on TV that morning. It’s strange, that though our first time there was troubled, we have now gone back many times with our children. and it feels very much like a place that we not only love. It feels like an important and significant part of our family. We have many favourite restaurants, and places to visit. I plan to talk about these more on the blog in the next few months, as I know planning a trip to Florida, is one fraught with decision-making. I’ll guarantee one thing though, whatever you decided to do, you can’t not love Florida, for all that it has to offer.
