Anyone who reads my blog knows I’ve been busy spring cleaning the house, as well as my finances. I’m very nearly there now, just two of the final hurdles left. The only problem being, the final two really do feel like mountains.
The first is the toys. I have always thought that having two girls would be so much easier, I could just pass the toys down. Crikey think of the money I would save. What it has meant, is that we now seem to have far too many toys, they feel like they are invading the house! Coupled with the fact, so many of them need new batteries. I actually gathered together all of them in a huge pile, so I could work our what batteries I needed. So many were either completely flat, or taunting me with the annoying slowed down version of their former selves.
‘Bleep….Buyyyy neeeew baaaattterrriess…..Beep!’
I’ve got that licked though, as I have bulk bought lots of rechargeble batteries. After the initial outlay, they really save you so much money, and are a greener choice too a win, win. I just need to find the time to charge them all up now. I think that sounds like a Tall Dad job though to me. 😉
The last job, is to ready the garden for summer. We’ve pruned down lots of the bushes, so really all that needs to be done now is lots (and lots) of weeding, and edging of the lawn. Doesn’t sound much, and our garden isn’t huge, but Tall Dad hates gardening, and I am too busy to do it in the week now. Hopefully though the weather is looking better (hope I’m not jinxing it) I can get a couple hours gardening at the weekend, in the garden. I have plans too, as I am convinced we are going to have a long hot summer. So I am planning barbecues, lazy afternoons after school in the garden, friends popping buy to share a glass of prosecco. I’m thinking this is going to be the way I recharge my batteries after this long winter, and all the spring cleaning I’ve been doing. Roll on Summer!
