Following on from our fantastic day out den building, at Sherwood Pines Forest Park : with the Forestry Commission, you can read all about it HERE, but below is a taster of the fun dens we built for woodland creatures. It was a truly fantastic day, and we were really inspired by all of the gorgeous woodland that was there.Having never been to a Forestry Commission site before, I was really impressed by what was available too. If you visit the Forestry Commission website, you can see where there are local places to you to set up a visit. We think the Discovery Pass, (an annual pass) would make the perfect gift for any Dad, because you all get to enjoy the fun, and make memories together. It also means that, as it’s a year-long pass, you get to see all the different seasonal aspects that are available.
Or how about Go Ape passes, I think my eldest would love to do this with her Daddy, as she has always wanted to try a Segway, which is one of the options available. I can just see them racing along on one of those.
The girls Miss A and N, decided that as well as a Discovery Pass, they wanted to make a handmade fathers day gift for Tall Dad, with a forest theme. Tall Dad is always saying he loves it when the girls get creative, so we decided to make him a woodland collage, made from leaves and flowers. Because of all of the high winds we have been having, we very easily picked lots of leaves suitable for the task from the floor.
Miss N and A wanted to recreate what it was like at Sherwood, so made a woodland picture.
We found some dark, purple/brown leaves that were perfect for the bark of a huge tree. We also collected some blue forget me knots, which Miss N thought made it look like blue bells scattered in the woodland too.
So here is the final result, I’m sure Tall Dad will love it

Disclaimer : I was gifted a Discovery Pass, and two Go Ape passes for Tall Dad. These are my thought and words however and this post is 100% honest.
