Kids and camping – mayhem, right? Well, maybe for some. For others, the idea appeals more than the reality. But if you’ve previously dismissed a camping holiday because you were worried about keeping your children occupied then it’s time to think again.
Generally speaking, everyone loves to go on holiday and stay in a tent. Not only does it feel more of an adventure, it’s also friendlier on the old wallet. And it doesn’t have to be in a rickety old tent in a field in the middle of nowhere.
Camping has changed. In the UK you’ll find more and more camping ‘pods’ popping up at many sites. They’re cosy little wooden huts that provide a base for a holiday of discovery. And when you cross the channel and venture into Europe you’ll find Eurocamp.co.uk, which has hundreds of campsites that are tailor made for families.
Here are three reasons why Eurocamp has made it much easier to go camping with the children:
The accommodation is waiting for you
Forget packing a tent into the boot of your car. Leave the pegs, mallet, sleeping bags and stove behind. Eurocamp has plenty of tents and wooden lodges waiting for you, so there’s no need to bring your own accommodation.
What’s more, you’ll find safari tents and even tree houses that include mini kitchens!
Top facilities
You can still get the tranquillity of a campsite without being out on a limb. Most established family sites in France and Italy for example are set in beautifully maintained parks that aren’t far away from main roads and transport links (so you can still venture into the towns and villages).
If you’ve got really young children, Eurocamp have slides, fountains and spray playgrounds that will entertain them for hours. And for those who have a baby there are changing mats, high chairs, potties, safety gates – and even guards over plug sockets – to help shorten your ‘things to take’ list even further!
Kids’ clubs and entertainment
You might like walking or hiking, but your young children might not. Perhaps they’re too young, or maybe they prefer to do activities that they enjoy more. Find a campsite that runs kids’ clubs – and there are plenty – and boredom will never be a worry.
Whatever ages your children may be, Eurocamp have clubs that will give your children the chance to play outside in a safe environment. They can learn to swim, cycle and play all sorts of sports – and it’s all done under the supervision of fully trained and qualified couriers.
Camping gives you the flexibility that you don’t always get from package holidays – especially when you think about flights, departure times, luggage limits and hotel check-out times. So if the kids have put you off camping in the past, don’t let them put you off any longer!

Oh my goodness. YOu have no idea how much I’d like to do this! We love camping, but it’s such hard work for me, who has to do all the packing and organising, and then try to stay on top of it all once there are 4 of us in the tent creating chaos. Sadly we can’t afford glamping, but I live in hope 😉
