When this commissioned infographic came across my desk today, I realised it was perfect for me, and might also be to my readers. I love this time of year, and the run up to Christmas, I really do. However with it brings lots of stress, troubled sleep, tossing and turning at night. I’ve tried to alleviate it with my Christmas Diary but I still get myself into a tizz about it all.
One of my recommendations is to read. I got myself a kindle, so when I wake up, and can’t seem to fall back to sleep, because my head is so full of ‘stuff’. I simply read a couple of pages, and I seem to instantly get that heavy-eyed feeling and fall to sleep. I thinks it’s because I am concentrating on something else? Though it’s not working at the moment, with my vampire read, which is brilliantly scary!
I love the idea, suggested below, of curling your toes to the count of 7 and repeating. That’s a simple technique definitely worth trying!
Kip Like A Koala – An infographic by the Tempur Mattress experts at Barker & Stonehouse.
One of my plans for the new year is a new mattress, or a Tempur mattress topper. I couldn’t believe how well I slept whilst on holiday, and I am sure it was down to the mattress. It even eased my back, which often aches with my bed at home. Creating a peaceful, and comfortable environment must help.
I think a good bedtime routine, is probably the best way though. Limiting time on-line, a bone warming bath, relaxing with a warm drink maybe using some essential oils to drift you off into slumber. If all else fails, lets all learn the didgeridoo {scribbles didgeridoo on my Christmas wish list} which has got to be the most comical suggestion!

Great post Amanda and love this infographic! You could also try sleeping in a different position for a better nights sleep. You may have a certain position you favour to drift off to sleep but with one simple change you may find it works much better for you!
