I’ve a really lovely company to tell you about, and hopefully brightened up your Monday morning.
La Pitchoune sells the most beautiful little girls dresses. The designers Loulou Bontemps and Gemma Smith have created a collection of luxurious made in Britain adorable dresses. La Pitchoune is definitely couture, with unique designs and patterns all made by Gemma and Loulou in their London-based studio with fabrics that look and feel amazing.
We were lucky enough to have been gifted one of these unique dresses. Miss A had her choice of any in the 2014 A/W range and she chose this one named Amber (£205) from the range. We did spend a long time making the decision though, as we loved the different fabrics that the dresses came in, and were very tempted to just go for a plain cotton velvet or dress with tulle. The dresses come in sizes 1-6, and Miss A is wearing a size 6.
She chose the Amber design because of her love of the red peter pan collar, and the bright floral colours. Miss A loves reds, blue and greens so this dress is just perfect. The vintage styling really suits her I think.
As you can imagine, this dress is made extremely well made. The fabric is described as a velvet, however, it is not a heavy velvet that I had imagined, but soft and delicate. The collar is made from silk and the dress is lined in cotton. Children can be really fussy about fabrics I have found, and Miss A is definitely one of them, especially labels and seams being itchy, there were no such complaints when she wore this. In fact she absolutely loves it!
One very happy girl, and a gorgeous dress that we will I’m sure get lots of wear out of this winter. I’m thinking we have our Christmas Day outfit all sewn up now…thank you La Pitchoune!
You can view this dress, and the others in their collection online. They have recently released a small (and adorable) Halloween collection too.
