As someone with hard floors throughout my ground floor, I know very well the difference adding a rug can have on a room. Choosing the style of rug that you go for can also make a huge difference. Rugs have had a resurgence in recent years, as they cost effectively can change the feel of a room, without changing the whole floor covering. In this post I am going to look at one particular style and brand, and the gorgeous impact this makes on a room.
In today’s post I am going to look at Louis De Poortere’s rugs that are available to purchase from The Rug Seller. A designer, pioneer and developer of luxury rugs since 1859, Louis De Poortere offers rich vintage style rugs, that come in a vest range of colours and of course sizes. The good thing is that The Rug Seller offers these rugs with huge savings against high st prices.
I think my favourite of the Louis De Poortere range is the fading world rugs. Here is an example of a faded rug in pink:
With both a distressed and antique look, at first glance you would think that it wouldn’t look out-of-place in a traditional room, and that’s true. However I also think it would look amazing in a more modern room, giving a room texture, and a strong and more unusual base to build a room around. The intricate detail and look of age would work well I feel to contrast against a more modern and simple room style.
The rugs which are approximately 8mm in depth, are woven on wilton jacquard looms and are made of cotton chenille and pure wool. They also have a anti slip coating to the back of them.
Or how about the patchwork design rugs from Louis De Poortere :
I love the richness of this deep bottle green rug, made up of a patch work of differently patterned samples, but all in the same colourway. A really different way of adding pattern and interest to a room and floor.
Are you intrigued? I know I am very tempted. If you want to find out more about these and any of the other styles of rugs then visit the The Rug Seller (http://www.therugseller.co.uk/) for more details.
