Classic boyish brogues with a fun feminine twist. – Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary)
It’s no secret that I love fashion. I don’t tend to entirely follow trends, I’m more of a classic dresser, but like to add more trend led or unusual pieces into my wardrobe, to give my look an edge. When I found these black leather brogues, at Clarks last weekend, I knew they were perfect for doing just that this spring. I love brogues and the masculine feel that they give to an outfit, these however, had just the twist that I was looking for. The perforations and the stud work detail to the shoe, is subtle and really works to step the brogue up a notch!
They are also incredibly comfortable, and make my mad dashing around on a day-to-day basis far easier than if I was wearing heels! I also think the lighter (grey) coloured laces just change-up the brogue, and help highlight even more the subtle studs. Very clever Clarks!
I would wear these in spring, with ankle sock and dress, but for this post, I thought I would style it for daytime, maybe for the school run, or if I was going into town to meet friends. So this look would include grey denim skinnies, a silver jumper and a black leather biker jacket. I always like to add a pop of colour to lift an outfit if I can, and that’s why I choose to team this with a scarf. This one being from the very cool designer – Age Of Reason. I added my favourite necklace and earrings from Chambers & Beau and Trollbead charm bracelet to add some more femininity to the look.
The leather on the Clarks Ennis Willow shoe is buttery soft, and the shoe is not rigid like a brogue usually is. Apparently this is because Clarks use the sacchetto construction for a flexible finish. The shoes also use the Clarks Plus technology, so that the shoe has a dual cushioning system that helps :
“…the foot’s natural pivot action into propulsion and reduces strain on the ball of the foot for greater comfort.”
Well it does feel cushioned and very comfortable!
