Hopefully by now you will know that this week (5-11th October) has been Wallpaper Week. I’ve loved seeing what others have been posting about, by following the hashtag #WallpaperWeek on twitter. If you haven’t caught any of it, please do have a look, as there are some really interesting interpretations and lots of great wallpaper inspiration.
All of the Graham & Brown Ambassadors have been asked to choose a day to post about a type of wallpaper during that week, based upon some themes. I decided to go for Saturday – which is the glamorous theme. I do love wallpaper, I love the instant impact it can have on the look and feel of a room. I think my only problem is I am not very good at hanging it. Instead I need to get my glamorous *ahem* assistant in on the act.
So I am thinking something luxurious and opulent to show you, the glamour of maybe a little sparkle or metallic touches. Lets see what wallpaper I can find from the collection that I think best suits glamorous theme :
Funky Flora Regal by Barbara Hulanicki – £55.00 a roll
Well, I was instantly drawn to this wallpaper, not only is it opulent with the darkest purple flock, it has hints of sparkle in the gold shimmer back ground. Oh this one is definitely for me!
I can imagine this in my living room next to my burnt vintage gold leather sofas and brass side table with a group of white orchids in gold reflective planters. So gorgeous! It is very glamorous, but its vintage 70’s look appeals to me, as it’s not taking itself too seriously.
Or how about this, a whole different take on glamorous:
Shoes Scarlet by Barbara Hulanicki – £55 a roll
This (if I was lucky enough to have one) I would have in a dressing room or walk in wardrobe. It really appeals to the fun side of me, wanting to do the opposite of what I am supposed to do. You know that rule that pink and red should never go together, I love breaking decorating rules like that! I think the rest of the room would need to be simple, I can imagine it now a white chaise, all the hangers white too, and even a white carpet, the ultimate in indulging glamour!
Or how about something more simple and downplayed like this Darcy wallpaper in white and silver£17.00 a roll.
I don’t think glamorous always has to be in your face, I think this is a perfect example of sophisticated contemporary glamour. I would have this in a bedroom, with crisp white bedlinen and a silver grey throw, and silk pillow slips.
So what do you think? Do you like either of my choices, or don’t you think I’ve hit the glamorous wallpaper mark?

You have definitely hit the glamorous mark! The top one is my favourite. I love how you have described the elements that would complement each paper – perfect! I’ve loved National Wallpaper Week, there have been so many great posts.
