I have always been a bit regimented with my bed linen, well in the main bedroom anyway. I’ve always gone for plain white, or cream. Simple, classic, but maybe a little boring? Since I redecorated our bedroom a couple of years ago, I’ve gone all adventurous, and added gold silver and even a little pattern into the mix. I know, I know, as a blogger of interiors I really should try something new. I think the thing is, I want to sleep in a more classic bedroom, relaxing colours and simple, but luxurious design. I don’t want to fall asleep somewhere, where I feel uncomfortable.
My latest bed linen is from Julian Charles – Blenheim Gold. and is exactly as I described above, and the perfect fit for our bedroom and classic style furniture I think. It looks and feels very expensive. The fabric for the duvet is a heavy weight Jacquard design, with a leaf and floral detail. Velvet trimming on the duvet cover and pillow slips, and a gold thread running through the design.
The velvet trim is echoed in the Blenheim gold throw, also from the Julian Charles range. Its silky smooth, and quilted. Perfect, as that extra layer at winter, but adds layering to the look of the dressed bed as well. I folded mine into quarters for the photographs, so you could see the duvet too. It’s actually both thick and large, so would cover the bed if you wanted it to.
It can be purchased from Julian Charles stores or online.
King Size Duvet : £75
Housewife Pillowcases (pair): £20
Gold Throw : £95
I’m really pleased with it, the luxurious feel seems to double up the ‘ahhh’ factor you feel when you climb into freshly washed bedding.
What do you think, is this a design you would like in your bedroom, or do you prefer something more modern?
I was sent the bedding to review. my thoughts and word however are 100% my own and honest.

Looks very luxurious! I love bedding and love having new – looked on the Julian Charles site and I like the embroidered grey set called Venice Natural Luxury.

Oooh very nice. Gold always adds glamour doesn’t it? It looks gorgeous, and I adore the wallpaper too. Jess xx
