Come Home to Cosy : Competition

This weekend was really a typical autumn and winter weather here, how about you? The wind was blowing, and leaves of orange, red and russet-brown were whirling in the air around us, as we donned our winter coats, hats and scarves and went on a walk with the dog. Add to that, it was so muddy, we ended up wearing wellies with a couple of pairs of socks to keep our toes a little warmer. There is nothing nicer when you get back home though, pink cheeked from being outside, to a cosy and warm home, with plans to do absolutely nothing but chill for the day or evening.

I’ve teamed up with Carpetright, the carpet, laminate and vinyl specialists this month, to talk to you about a brand new competition that is live on their site. Its all about you sharing your #ComeHometoCosy moments. Its simple really, all you need to do is put your thinking caps on and share a photograph or video of what your idea of ‘Come Home to Cosy’ is, to win a fantastic prize that’s perfect for making your home beautifully cosy in time for Christmas.

So what do you win? A brand new, state-of-the-art TV, as well as £500 worth of Carpetright vouchers. What an amazing prize!

So what’s my idea of a come home to cosy home? Well I’d open my door, kick those boots off and make everyone a hot chocolate, which we would enjoy snuggled up on the sofa together. A roaring real fire and one of our favourite films…Elf! You can’t beat a real fire, and its something I look forward to every autumn and winter time.

If you want to enter this fab competition all you need to do is send that photograph or video in. Remember if you send a video you will double your chances of winning. Here are some handy points to remember though when making a video :

1. Make sure your video is landscape in orientation rather than portrait

2. Make sure you use a high-resolution setting so that your video is clear and crisp

3. Video length to be no longer than 20 seconds

4. Ensure there’s enough natural light and turn on extra lighting where possible – brightness is best

5. Be as creative as you can. Family, pets & props are welcome!!!

Carpetright will also be using some of their favourite videos and photographs to feature in a special short film as part of the Christmas ‘Come Home to Cosy’ campaign. So if like me its a cosy night by the fire, toasting marshmallows and watching a film with the family. Or it’s catching a cuppa with your friend and a chat about what been happening, its really is totally up to you, and the more imaginative the better.
