The one where I had my hair cut off on live TV.

I’ve had pretty much the same hairstyle (long, all one length and blonde) for over 20 years. I know, completely boring, but I thought it suited me, and if it ain’t broke? Well earlier in the year I had a fringe cut into my hair, a radical move for me.  I was glad I did it, but it somehow didn’t feel like enough of a change.  I saw an opportunity to go on This Morning to have my hair cut into a bob, and thought it was just the chance I was looking for, a push to be brave and get out of my comfort zone.

I arrived the night before, as the ITV This Morning team had put me up in a hotel, I then had to get to the studios bright an early on the Monday, at 7.15. I’d hardly slept the night before because I was so nervous, and I was a wobbly mess once I got there.  The team was amazing though, put me completely as ease and it wasn’t long before we were scooped up and rehearsing what would happen on the show.

Mikey Kardashian was our hairstylist for the morning and had recently sorta, kinda…ack, I’m not even sure he knows whether he cut Katie Prices hair into a bob if I’m honest.  The press, and public went mad though over the new Pricey style, even if it was short lived.

This Morning wanted Mikey to change the look of three This Morning viewers, in a similar way. Each of us had long hair, but got a different length bob, mine being the closest to Katie’s in length.

It was interesting getting my hair done, not only by someone completely different to my regular hairdresser, but also someone who calls themselves a session stylist (I think that was the term) I learnt so much about styling and product as I was sat in the hot seat! I’ve now invested in a hot brush, and enough bumble & bumble haircare to sink a battle ship.

I then got to have my make-up done, by the gorgeous Buster, who again gave me so many tips, it made me realise how much I’d been stuck in a rut make-up wise too…not any more thanks to both of these fab guys!

I was the last one to be glammed up, so had to make a mad dash back to the studio to be mic’d up. Actually the live bit wasn’t so bad as Ruth and Rylan, were so lovely to me.  I really did look shocking in the morning, no wonder Rylans reaction was ‘OMG Amanda you look so different’
