With Mothers Day coming up, I wanted to take the time to talk about what my Mum means to me, and a little about motherhood too.
My mum is truly amazing. I’ve had a nightmare of a year so far, and she has been there one hundred percent to help me. She’s a tad cheeky, sometimes even a bit of a rebel, much more so than me I fear. She will often say something for me to react with…Muuu-uum.

She is incredibly fair though, of course she is my ally when I have need someone, but she is truthful too. If I am in the wrong or I overstep the mark she will tell me. That makes me respect her even more, and her opinion means everything to me.

When I think of my Mum I think of someone who is strong, intelligent, funny, wise, patient, caring, loyal and beautiful inside and out. The things both her and my Dad do for my 2 daughters to ensure they are happy is amazing, they have such a special relationship with them. My Mum was in the operating room when I had my first child Nia, and was at the hospital waiting in post op when I had my youngest. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for them, and me and for that I am incredibly grateful. I just hope that my girls will think as much of me, as I do of my Mum when they are my age.

After yesterday spending far too long trying to get my very out of practice brain around my childs chemistry homework, I remembered how my Mum always used to help me with homework when I was struggling (and when I wasn’t). Only now do I realise that she probably did not have that much time to help me between working, shopping, cleaning, cooking etc but she always did – thanks Mum! My mum is about to become a grandma for the fourth time, but this is the first time for my first baby. She helped me tidy my entire my house yesterday, put together flat pack furniture which is pretty hard going, carry heavy stuff around and this lady is 70 in April!! #trooper

I honestly do not think I would function without my mum. She does everything for everyone and rarely has a minute to herself. She pretty much helps me run my life and makes sure things are easier for me and I’ll always be eternally grateful.

My Mum is so special because she is the very best Nanna to all of her grandchildren. They all love her so much and there is rarely a day when she hasn’t got one of the kids tagging along with her everywhere she goes. We are lucky that both me and my sister live on the same street as my Mum so the children can easily go and see Nanna whenever they want (which is very often)

My Dad died tragically when I was quite young and so my Mum has brought me up singlehandedly. I am so grateful for the sacrifices she has made throughout our lives to be an amazing parent and to teach me love and compassion. We only have one radio in the kitchen that’s on all the time and it’s on the blink – I think it’s the arial. So we need a radio. The bonus with this one would be the bluetooth. I’m trying to get fit and use my bike on a turbo trainer in the kitchen. In order to relieve the boredom I listen to the radio and currently have to have our intermittent radio on very loud. For everybody elses sake I could pair this with some headphones.

#MyHeroMum, Penny, is well, just brilliant – nothing is too much trouble for her and she brings so much joy to my children which makes her even more wonderful! She makes a mean sherry trifle, shares with me an addiction to Thorntons (what can I say, it must be genetic…right??) and has supported me, my dad and siblings come what may. My mum is my best friend, I feel like everyday should be mother’s day because I can’t even begin to repay her for everything she has done for me, she’s given me so much support and courage and held my hand during the hard parts of my life. She is my hero and role model. I love her a lot.

#MyHeroMum My mum is in a foreign country getting medical treatment for my dad right now. She sat alone in a hospital waiting room for five and a half hours. She takes care of him, and she takes care of us when we’re close. Taking care of us is hard work. But she’s got energy, she’s got zip, and she’s not afraid to tell us what’s what. That being said, she deserves a little melody in her life right now.

#MyHeroMum Very sadly is not here anymore, but is always with me. She was generous with her time for others, helped various disabled groups and worked for the ambulance service. She taught me to accept others, no matter how different they may be, for the people they are. She was a huge fan of country & western music, which used to make me cringe, but now when I hear her favorite songs on the radio I think of her and smile. Music can do that for you.
I’m a fan of Emma Bridgewater and love this radio. If I’m lucky enough to win, I will smile whenever I look at it knowing that my mother helped me to win it. (sorry if that sounds a bit soppy!)

Mum’s the Queen Bee in our house, spreading love and affection wherever she goes, and we love her too so very much. She’s always putting everyone else first, so Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity for us to lavish TLC on her.
For starters it’s breakfast in bed, then the family will head out on a trip into the countryside for a picnic which she simply adores, and later it’s back home for a cordon bleu supper (or as close as I can get to it!)
In the kitchen, we still have a prehistoric FM radio, #MyHeroMum deserves something better as she creates culinary miracles. An all-singing View Quest DAB covered in ❤ would be perfect – it would play the highest quality radio and mirror all the love she shares in the world.

I would love to win this! I spend a good amount of the day in the kitchen cooking, baking, cleaning and I sneak in there to take a 5 minute break if I need one. This would be perfect for enjoying the time with some great music and radio while I am busy instead of silence. My phone doesn’t connect to the radio properly so I usually end up just doing whatever I am doing in silence.
Apart from it being mothers day today it is also mum and dads 47th wedding anniversary today so she should really have a medal for putting up with us all for so long #MyHeroMum
