Christy Supreme Hygro® towels carry the COTTON USA
International trademark for quality U.S cotton-rich products
When you go away on you travels, do you like to surround yourself with things that remind you of home? A few of your children’s favourite toys, maybe that one teddy bear they can’t sleep without. A photograph of loved one or pet, your favourite teacup and brand of tea that you love. It may even be as simple as a blanket or pillow that reminds you of home.
Or is it the all important towels from home that you bring? The soft luxury, that smells of your favourite wash powder, and invokes thoughts of washing on the line, that gorgeously deep fluffy pile that you use to dry you or children after a bath or shower.
I’ve been sampling Christy Supreme Hygro® towels that carry the COTTON USA International trademark for quality U.S cotton-rich products, in an appropriately travel named colour of blue lagoon. This is just the kind of reminder I would like of home when I’m away I think!
Take a look at this video which I really wished I’d have watched before I took the images, of the perfect way to fold a Christy towel :
See what I mean?
So I got to thinking what do other top UK interior and lifestyle bloggers bring from their homes when they go on there travels :
Penny Alexander from Parentshaped says :Travel candles in a tin are brilliant to take on holiday. They keep your clothes in your suitcase smelling gorgeous and can make you feel relaxed and at home in a new setting. Some blends are also great for seeing off midges and mosquitoes!
A nostalgic idea from Molly at Molly and the Princess :When my children were little, I used to make a room spray with lavender and chamomile essential oils in water in a spray bottle, and spray that at home for a week or two before taking them on holiday or to stay some somewhere new, where I would spray the same on arrival. It’s a subtle way of making them feel at ease in new surroundings, and promoting good sleep.
Elizabeth from Rosalilium came up with a really cool item : Whenever I I’m travelling I like to take my sarong with me. Sounds a bit bizarre as surely a sarong is a holiday thing, but my sarong has been on every single trip away with me since 2008. It’s my trusty sarong, I use it for all kinds of travel things such as cover up, blanket, head cover, towel, pillow… all sorts! I use it at home a lot too when we’re out in the garden or just hanging around the house. It’s black with a large floral pattern and gives me a satisfying sense of security when I hold it. I guess it’s an adult version of a comfort blanket
Kate Watson-Smyth from Mad About The House can’t resist buying things for her home when she’s away : I’m a sucker for wooden bowls and patterned plates which I always look out for when on holiday. They look great back home filled with fruit or canapés or for serving big bowls of pasta.
So do you have idea to add?

When I was unpacking my youngest daughter’s bag from her recent 3 night school trip I found a photograph of her favourite bedtime toys. She hadn’t want to take them with her (they’re quite old and tatty) so she took the photo instead. Even little ones know they need home comforts when away from home to help them feel safe and secure.

Love those towels. I tend to travel a lot but don’t really carry anything with me to remind me of home. I do however always listen to my music which makes me happy. A x

The towels look lovely and I really like the colour – I think they’d be a great reminder when back at home of the colour of the sea on holiday! (well, in the Med anyway).
