I was having a browse on Instagram the other day and few people had shared what they were using this wintertime, things they were recommending.
Anyone else been effected by the change in weather? I’ve really felt it this year. Not helped by the fact I’ve had a non stop cold since the 1st of October. My skin, hair and even my eyes seem to have been effected. I decided to bring out the big guns, and try to get myself feeling tip-top ready for Christmas, which this year is going to be even busier than ever.
It’s been a bit of trial and error but here are my favourites that are really working for me. Some new and others old stella favourites. If I’m honest I’ve been trying a combination of things over the last few years, and I’m pretty certain now I’ve found what works for me (this winter anyway) so I thought I would share it.
- Seven Seas – Simply Timeless
Working from the inside out – The first new thing I’ve been doing is taking Seven Seas Simply Timeless. One a day, this works out to be a three-month supply and costs around £8.99, so really good value. I decided to give them a try for a few reasons really. Firstly I’m a big believer in taking Omega 3, and am really confident of the health benefits, I religiously gave Omega 3 to both my children growing up. I loved that these capsules couple the Omega 3 with multivitamins, which are bound to make a difference to my flagging body. When I spotted that the DHA supports the maintenance of normal vision (as well as heart and brain function) well that got my intrigued, as earlier this year I had found out that I was long sighted as well as shortsighted, so anything that could possibly keep it at the same level, sounded like a good idea. Just one capsule a day, and I am already seeing the benefits, they are definitely helping keep me on track!

My skin has a tendency to be dehydrated all year round, but in winter add to that a tired, almost sallow complexion, and some very dry patches. What I’ve found works for me, is exfoliation twice a week followed up by cleansing using my Foreo Luna for sensitive skin.
So I use once/twice a week the Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing oil, with a little of the buffing brains added to it. The oil dissolves surface impurities and makeup without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. The buffing grains are the best exfoliater I’ve ever tried, at first I was put off by the price of these, but they do seem to last and last as you only need a tiny amount.
For all of the other days, whilst I am in the shower I use the Foreo Luna (2) with either the day or night cleanser (3). This is such a gentle but powerful way of cleansing the skin, I am so pleased to have found this brand.

Next up I apply a face oil for dehydrated skin made from 100% pure plant extracts, its Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil for dehydrated skin. I wear the oil underneath Origins A Perfect World moisturiser. It has SPF, which I still try to use even in winter.
Finally tea, lots of tea I’ve always drunk a lot of both tea and coffee, but I seem to be loving tea at the moment, especially herbal, my winter drink of choice!
