Do you have LEGO fans at your home, maybe you are a fan too?
I was invited by Very to go and check out the LEGO Friends House of Heart event at Intu Victoria Center in Nottingham. Even though it was incredibly busy (who knew Tiana would draw that kind of crazy crowd) it was great to see life, even if in a small way, through my youngest daughters eyes. Not only in terms of the toys she like to play with, but also one of her favourite YouTubers, Tiana from Toys and Me.
Having Fun : LEGO Friends
What is LEGO Friends?
For anyone not familiar, The LEGO Friends are a group of 5 girls, Emma, Olivia, Stephanie, Andrea and Mia, who live in Heartlake City. They go on missions to help one another and their friends, trying to make their home town a better place to be. They all have very different characters, but most of all I’d say they are daring and fun! We chatted to the other people in the crowd, and everyone had a different favourite, or characteristic they liked. My youngest has collected a few LEGO friends sets over the years and I’ve been known to help her build them too. They are a fab thing to do together. I love that they allow imaginations to flow, they can be a great way to get those brain cells working as well as your dexterity.
Crowds craning to see the Toys and Me family
The House of Heart Tour,
This Spring, LEGO Friends have travelled to eight intu shopping centres across the UK in a quest to ‘put more heart into the world’. It was a free event, and within both the ‘house’ structure and on the outside were lots of activities to get involved with. Including photo opps and building different things out of LEGO like hearts and people. Everyone who got involved received a LEGO goody bag too.
We queued for over 2.5 hours to meet Tiana (10) but for A (9) it was absolutely worth it. Tiana was so lovely, polite and smiley. The perfect advocate for the brand I think. With over 9 million subscribers, her YouTube channel is a bit of a phenomena I think? A is quite a shy child, but she totally blew me away, as the asked Tiana if she could have a selfie with her (you can see her clutching her phone) and even asked her to sign the back of her phone which Tiana did gladly.
What is the LEGO Friends Heart Squad?
We know that every girl has something they’re great at within their group and that when girls work together, amazing things happen – just like when our five LEGO Friends team up to help Heartlake City.
That’s why we’re creating the LEGO Friends Heart Squad – a group of girls who will be working together to take part in Heart and Brick Missions to put more heart into the world, just like the real LEGO Friends – Andrea, Emma, Mia, Olivia and Stephanie.
The Heart Squad will be teaming up to help inspire girls in the UK to build a better world together, with Heart and Brick Missions inspired by LEGO Friends. Members of the Heart Squad include Tiana, Ruby Rube, Rosie McClelland, Mia’s Life and Sassy Belle. As a group, the Heart Squad will show girls that they have the power to build a better world together.
She even made our local newspaper – Nottingham Evening Post, both online and in print which made the House of Heart event even the more special for her.
My husband, aka The tall fella wanted in on the action too, and I took his photo posing with Tiana’s Dad, who is a real character let me tell you!
Thanks for the oppotunity Very and LEGO, its something I don’t think any of us will ever forget!
