I’m a new firm fan of french skin care. After my last trip to France (who am I kidding I’ve only been three times, four if you count Corsica) I have become a little bit obsessed with visiting French Pharmacies and finding new ranges to try. You’ve seen what those French men and womean look like haven’t you? It looks kind of effortless, but behind the scenes they are serious about their beauty routine and what they use!
Simple, uncomplicated and great quality.
Skincare is an investment, and the French don’t want to skimp on quality. They tend to have a very simple routine, that always involves cleansing, toner, moisturiser and serum. Whilst they want to have good skin, they are realistic and are believers in good products being used consistently together with facials from experts. Sound good so far?
Well, each time I’ve visited france I’ve picked up different things to try back at home. Sanoflore was new to me, it’s L’Oréal’s only certified organic skincare and clinically tested skincare brand. I actually got given a sample of it this year in one of pharmacies. I tried it, and loved it! Bizarrely later that week, I had an email asking me if I wanted to try some new to the UK things from the range (such a coincidence) and I jumped at the chance.
Sanoflore Merveilleuse
This range is new to the UK. In fact, I’ve not really seen it very much, even online. I’ve been testing it out for around 4/5 weeks. Regular readers will know that I like to thoroughly use something before I blog about it. So first up, the packaging. I love the colours, it feels classy and expensive. The anti-ageing night concentrate has a really cool pipette that you ‘click’ from the top of the bottle. I’ve never used a pipette like it before, and it works really well, allowing you to release just the right amount you need. I’ll update this once I get nearer the bottom, to tell you how it works when its nearly empty.
It’s Organic (hurrah!)- Here’s what the brand says…
Our botanical plants are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. Each plant is sourced mainly in the Vercors Regional Natural Park and Drôme, one of Europe’s best protected regions where the ground and air are pure and uncontaminated. This area has been organically farmed, free of pesticides, for more than 45 years, and its region of Drôme is now home to France’s largest controlled Organic area. All of our skincare has had organic certification since 1986 and complies with the ECOCERT organic certification standards. This means it is free from parabens, aluminium salts, silicones, surfactants from petrochemicals, mineral oils, PEGs & phenoxyethanol
Sanoflore Essence Merveilleuse Regenerating Anti-Ageing Night Oil 30ml – £45.00
So this I have been using in the evening just before I go to bed. It’s a non greasy oil, it feels almost like a dry oil? I applied Essence Merveilleuse Regenerating Anti-Ageing Night Oil to freshly cleansed and dry skin. Massaged the oil into my whole face. I’ve had a few headaches recently, and I’ve found it so relaxing massaging this into my temples and forehead. It’s lightly perfumed, just enough for me.
….with invigorating notes of Citrus, Iris and Cedra. Infused with powerful anti-ageing essential oils from Lemon Balm (also known as Melissa Officinalis) and Pelargonium, the formula acts at the heart of the skin, repairing and revitalising skin’s cells overnight when skin is most receptive. Arise with radiant, smooth and plumped skin for the day ahead.
Free from parabens, synthetic fragrances and mineral oils. All natural. Tested on sensitive skin types.
I love it, its a light but effective oil, and I definitely felt it worked well on my skin smoothing and plumping. The organic Lemon Balm and organic Geranium oil have been clinically proven to rival the anti-ageing effects of retinol and Vitamin C. Clinical tests revealed that 85% of users noticed their complexion looked invigorated after one use, and 83% noticed skin looked revitalised after 4 weeks.
Sanoflore Crème Merveilleuse Rich Firming Anti-Ageing Moisturiser 50ml – £43.00
This, as the name suggests is a very rich moisturiser, it even looks rich in colour and definitely feels it on your skin. My skin is generally very dehydrated, and I would use this regularly, but not every day, switching it out sometimes with a lighter moisteriser like the one below. I feel my skin benefits from changing up the richness of the moisturiser, I don’t know if anyone else is the same? I found its hydration lasted for a really long time, which impressed me. It didn’t irritate my skin, but it is rich and I would say perfect for someone who has dry aging skin (I’m 46) like myself, with fine lines.
Enriched with essential organic Pelargonium Oil and essential oil of minty Lemon Balm, the delicately perfumed moisturiser melts smoothly on the skin, hydrating it for 24 hours whilst imparting invigorating notes of Citrus and Iris for softer, youthful-looking skin.
Sanoflore Crème Merveilleuse Light Smoothing Anti-Ageing Moisturiser 40ml – £35.00
This is much lighter than the previous moisturiser, sinks into the skin well, and isn’t sticky at all – none of this range is actually. Perfect to use every morning, taking the cream from the face to the neck. It’s very easily absorbed.
Rediscover skin’s youthful capacity with the Crème Merveilleuse Light Smoothing Anti-Ageing Moisturiser from pioneers in organic cosmetics, Sanoflore; a deliciously perfumed, luxurious anti-wrinkle cream that delivers deep hydration. Enriched with the essential oils of Geranium and Lemon Balm, the lightweight, antioxidant-rich day cream is formulated to improve skin’s elasticity and smooth out fine lines, whilst simultaneously protecting skin from external aggressors that cause premature skin ageing. Youthfulness is restored, and skin is hydrated, firmer and plumper.
Overall I love the range. It’s great for anyone wanting to add some effective great quality vegan or organic skin care into their routine. I think for the quality of the products they are really well priced too.
