It’s time for my second Christmas gift guide, which is a beauty one. I wanted to look at items that I would actually use, and be happy to receive this Christmas, including a few stocking filler beauty gifts too. I am more than a little obsessed with beauty, and there are always new things to try to I can’t help but get excited sometimes when I find something that cool, a new to me brand or interesting idea. So here’s a little round-up of suggestions for you to use, either as a gift for someone else, or as a treat to yourself.
Make-up Storage
First up, make-up storage. I’ve always been a fan of acrylic make-up storage, and have had a couple of sets for years. I was looking to upgrade though, to something where each drawer was a little larger and would fit more in. Most of us we have limited space and so wanted to use the space I have a little cleverer, without compromising on style. This is the set below from BEAUTIFY
It’s really well made, and glides easily in and out. Clear acrylic for makeup really does make sense, as you can at a glance get to the right section easily. This is the small make-up organiser – £39.99 on the site. It’s large enough to take a substantial amount of makeup.
- Six tier design features five drawers plus an upper compartment with hinged flip top lid. Includes removable divider.
- Made from strong high-grade acrylic, for frequent daily use.
- Ideal for use in the home or professional makeup studio.
- Dimensions: L24 x W24 x H30cm
Organic Skin Care
I also wanted to introduce you to a beauty brand I’ve been using over the past month, that I’ve been so impressed with. Odylique is an all-organic skin care line made right there in the UK (Suffolk) perfect for those of us with sensitive skin. They’ve got an amazing range of beauty products, including a few that are completely vegan!
If you have someone in your life who is 40+ with dry skin, then this little trio here is amazing!
Odylique Ultra Rich Balm £19 – Providing intense hydration for very dry skin and skin prone to eczema, Ultra Rich Balm supports the skin’s natural barrier function and helps protect it from the drying effects of heat, cold and wind, without blocking pores. I actually used a tiny amount of this on my face using a FOREO. Moving it around the whole of my face, concentrating on the areas which were very dry, before taking it off with warm water. I also tried it on some dry areas I always get on my hands once it gets cold. Honestly this stuff is amazing, and a little goes a LONG way.
Timeless Rose Moisturiser £23.00 – Rose Moisturiser is naturally high in antioxidants to reduce fine lines and counteract the ageing and collagen-destroying effects of ‘free radicals’ and sunlight. Treat your skin to the best day cream that nature can offer.
“I can’t live without it” Denise van Outen, in Reveal magazine
Superfruit Concentrate £33.00 – This organic face oil is a blend of super-strength 100% organic rosehip oil, sea buckthorn and pomegranate, giving an exceptional synergy of 5 omega fatty acids, plus antioxidant vitamins and nature’s miracle phytosterols, to target dry skin and all aspects of skin ageing. This is the best serum style face oil, to give your skin a little pick me up in the morning, when you are feeling and looking tired. It sinks into the skin really well, and didn’t irritate at all. My skin feels so lovely afterward, leaving it with a feel plump and hydrated, it kinda glows too.
Hair
I have suffered with quite a lot of hair loss since I hit around 40 (I’m 47 now) and that includes my eyebrows. It has gotten better recently as I have started to take more care of my hair, and my body taking a few extra vitamins. I am always on the look out for other things to try, and I think I’ve found a corker of a company –Hairburst, that I want to introduce you to.
Hairburst Mulberry Silk Pillow £34.99 – when I was chatting to my hairdresser about my hair loss woes, this is one of the things she suggested. Made from the finest quality silk you can buy, perfect for keeping that bed head under control. Said to help reduce friction on your hair which often causes damage. Like split ends and hair fall, and it helps to maintain moisture, leaving you with silky soft hair. But that’s not all this amazing pillow has fantastic benefits for your skin, maintaining moisture, preventing sleep creases and reduced puffiness.
Hairburst 35+ Vitamins £24.99 – I’m a big believer in supplements now, after seeing some real changes since I’ve been taking them. These supplements work by stimulating hair growth and helping it to appear younger and healthier by reducing split ends and other damage caused by poor diet, sun, products and styling. I’ll keep you informed how I get on with these.
Hairburst Eyelash Growth Serum £32.99 –This serum is said to improve the appearance of thin, fine, short or sparse lashes by wakening dormant, non-activated hair roots of each eyelash and pushing them into the growth phase. I’ve started using it already, and will update you on the results!
Stocking Fillers :
Next up is an exciting an innovative new product, from one of my favourite brands – Shavata. A new brow product called Day Long Brow Tint. This I think is perfect for a super quick tidy up, as you walk out of the door. Also if like me you are in between having your eyebrows redyed. It so simple to use, as it only tints your hair not your skin. So say you have a few grey *ahem* or fine pale hairs. Glide this along your brow area and it tints the hairs, effortlessly and in an instant. We given this a test (both colours) and its so good, I had to include it here, as the perfect gift for someone who love to look after their brows.
More information can be found HERE, and either buy online, or visit your nearest Shavata studio.
I visited the Dead Sea a couple of years ago, and following this I remember wandering around the markets in Israel looking for products that contained Dead Sea salts. If you havent ever tried them, then I really do recommend giving them a go. You don’t have to travel thousands of miles to reap the rewards of the Dead Sea, as you can buy this scrub with Frankincense oil in Boots for £7.79. A brilliant stocking filler I think.
Finally, this cold weather can play havoc on your hands any feet, so this is a lovely gift idea. O’Keeffe’s Working Hands – £14.99 gift set contains hand cream, O’Keeffe’s Healthy Feet foot cream and O’Keeffe’s new Lip Repair lip balm in cooling relief.
So there you have it, next up is my Teen Christmas gift guide, tomorrow.
