1. Making a Note of Important Details: This is a bit of an umbrella term and can include a vast range of details regarding a new home. The most crucial element to note when preparing for a new home is the initial move-in date. While this could often change due to obstacles cropping up, it is ideal that you have some sort of idea as to when you could be in your new home. Furthermore, on the off-chance that you are faced with an obstacle that results in a delay to your move-in date, you will want to have a back-up plan in place, just in case. It is undoubtedly better to be safe than sorry!
2. Organise Adequate Storage for Belongings: It goes without saying, but if you are faced with the situation where you are unable to move into your new home on the initial move-in date, the last thing that you want to be doing is transporting your belongings back and forth numerous times. While it is inconvenient for all parties involved, it could also be incredibly stressful, so this point is worth considering. Mainly if you have many belongings to move around, utilising services available – including the likes of self-storage units provided by Safestore – is a great way to go about it.
3. Child and/or Pet Proofing Your Home: This is for all those parents out there who have their hands full with their children and of whom are also a devoted pet parent! While this might not be at the top of your list of priorities when moving to a new home, it is undoubtedly something worth considering, especially if you have particularly young and curious children; this is something that will prevent them from coming to harm in any way.

This is somewhat the least stressful part of the moving to a new house process. This is a really great time to get the children involved, too; allowing them to help in unpacking their belongings and tidying up after themselves not only teaches them some valuable skills but gives you a bit of a break as a busy, on-the-go parent!
