Origins: Dr Andrew Weil Mega Bright

| March 21, 2012 | 8 Comments

Following a post I wrote a few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to review the NEW Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins™ Mega-Bright Skin tone correcting serum.

I have never used Origins products before, I have always wanted to try them though.   I really love that they are a company that has a long-standing commitment to protecting the planet and its resources,  including their policies, practices and packaging and I think that is to be commended.

If like me, you want to learn more about this, than you can do so by visiting their site HERE

Who is Dr Andrew Weil?:

For the past 30 years, Dr. Andrew Weil, a Harvard-educated doctor and botanist, has devoted himself to developing, practicing and teaching others about the principles of integrative medicine. Integrative Medicine takes into account the whole person (body, mind and spirit) including all aspects of lifestyle.

Here is the product I have been testing:

origins skin brightener

Available from the site for £46 for 1floz./30ml, also available at many stores.

Here is what Origins say:

See a noticeable improvement in evenness of skin tone
- Uneven skintone
- Discolouration
- UV damage
- Post blemish marks
- Age spots

Discover Dr. Weil’s revolutionary approach with the radiant power of nature’s Rosa Roxburghii complex.  See a noticeably brighter, more luminous complexion. Try it – the results are positively brilliant!

Though I do not suffer (yet fingers crossed) with age spots, my skin is a little uneven in tone. I also have quite dull grey skin, especially in winter.  Whenever I am lucky enough to have Microdermabrasion, that is something the beauty therapist always points out to me.

So I have been applying a pea sized amount (which I have firstly warmed in my hands) of the product morning and night, for the past 5 days.

The Smell:  This is important to me.  I really don’t like using products that have a chemically smell, this does not. It does not smell very strongly, just a gentle essence that is really gorgeous. I can detect a herbal and a slight floral smell.

The Test: It feels very smooth and rich as you warm it up in your hands and put it onto your face, and my skin drank in the serum very quickly, before I applied my moisturiser. So I didn’t need to wait between the two process’.

The Results: I am absolutely delighted!  I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin since using this product. I’ve even had compliments, from people saying I look different ‘glowing’.  The biggest change I think is my skin looks and feels smoother, it definitely has a more illuminated look to it.

Sometimes when I try new products, they will irritate my skin and give me spots.  I did not have one spot whilst trying this, I only saw positive results!

I appreciate this is not a long time to test a product, but I have definitely already seen results in my skin, This is one that I will be using in my skin care routine from now on!

Thank you for reading

I’m a big fan of Origins stuff! I currently use the Plantscription serum and the Perfect World moisturiser with SPF and I think my skin looks better when I use these products than when I don’t.

I might give this new one a try now that you have recommended it.

I’m a complete convert Ruth, it’s so good!
I think I’m going to visit the counter we have in H of F and sit down and have a chat with them, about my current routine, as I think I would like to try a different from my current one moisturiser too.

That sounds like a great product and it is good to read reviews of these products before you try them as they are so expensive.
