A bunch of Nottingham Bloggers went out into the cold night air last week to discover the delights of the Frankie and Benny Cocktails. We had a blast, there was much gossiping and laughter (I think the cocktails helped) we enjoyed a meal together, and a drink or three.
We were asked to review what we thought of the cocktails at Frankie and Bennys, and in essence I think we all loved them. A couple of people tried the iced ones and found them to be too icy, but for the majority they were very agreeable. We also sampled the non alcoholic cocktails, which were just as tasty. It’s a comprehensive list, but not too many that you get confused whilst making your choice.
I had a couple of Espresso Martini’s. Now I don’t like to boast, but I’m a little bit of an expert on this particular cocktail. If offered on a cocktail list, it is often the one I go for. Well this was delicious. A very round favour of coffee and served beautifully in a Martini glass with coffee beans, I thought, it could be improved with just a tad more vodka, but it really was very quaff-able, as you can see.
If you would like to make your own Espresso Martini at home you will need :
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liquer
- 1/4 oz white creme de cacao
- 1 oz cold espresso
- Pour the vodka, Kahlua, creme de cacao and espresso into a cocktail shaker with a little ice.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
