Everyone who follows the marvelous Magpie Monday, will know of the hilarious tale that Liz told, over at Me and my Shadow, and her dabble into purchasing an enormous collection of pommanders, if not you can read it here in all its glory.
I have to hold my hands up and say I was one of the people who was applying a little peer pressure, to buy these little beauties. Well how could I not, they are gorgeous, and I will always look at them and smile. Not sure the same can be said of Liz, as she tries to fight to get into her spare room full of the blighter’s.
Well I ordered some of them, from Liz and they arrived today. I am absolutely in love with them.
Here is the green collection:
I want these for my conservatory, not sure yet how I am going to group them, but here a picture of them in for the time being. Note the abundance of cushions, really must get rid of a few.
This is the next set, I asked for pinks and reds, did I say before how much I loved them!
Here they are on the window at the top of my stairs:
Liz also included this, as she knew it was my favourite of the birds.
It will always remind me of her and twitter. It now has pride of place next to a clock (that needs a battery) and a Gustav Klimt postcard @msmollylouise sent me when I was ill last year.
Thank you so much Liz, I love them!
What do you think, I’d be interested to know. Granny chinz chic, or a complete no no?

We had such fun reading Liz’s post – Mr G was in hysterics! I think the pomanders look fantastic in your lovely home – I think Liz could really be heading a pomander revolution here. How sweet that you have my postcard – the arrangement with coot, clock and card looks great! I recognised the Klimt of course, but didn’t remember sending you the card, what a short memory I have! Have you filled the pomanders or are you going to? I await my one small purchase – I’m afraid I did not bite the bullet like you and go for a big order, but yours look gorgeous!

It still makes me chuckle!
Liz is even going to be selling some smelly beads, to fill the ones I have on the stairs!
I’m leaving the ones in the conservatory empty, as in the heat, the smell will be overpowering.
My fireplace really needed clearing, so I rearranged it all. I agree, I love the grouping together. I too forgot until I read the back of it, we’ve had so many things happen really on twitter, feel like I’ve known you for years!!

Oh course, Granny chic is the way forward :0)
They look fabulous. You have to have vision (especially when you’re going out on a limb and pruchasing 186 of the bleeders!!).
Glad you like them and thanks for buying. We are trail-blazers 🙂
