This weeks post is slightly tongue in cheek, and not at all what I will be up to today. I need to get my house back in order, after the chaos of the half term break. I’ll be rushing around changing all the beds and have a least 5 loads of washing to do….but I can dream right?
I was given the idea by one of the lovely ladies from Stamptastic, if you’ve not checked out this site, and you have children of any age you must! They make identifying belongs a whole lot easier.
I had asked on twitter….
‘what would you like me to include on my I Love Mondays post?’
Their reply was for me….
‘to blog about 5 minutes peace, now the children are back at school! ‘
Well, with this in mind I tried to imagine what I would like to do, if I had 5 minutes peace today. I very quickly imagined a scene, and then virtually shopped to try and recreate it for you.
Ok, so lets start with something to read:
How about this cloth bound hardback, of my all time favourite book Jane Eyre. They have been individually designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith, with 29 editions to collect. This would be the one for me, on offer at the moment for 11.99 from Waterstones.
Now somewhere to recline:
How about this dark grey velvet ‘Pepper’ chaise longue from Sweetpea and Willow, priced at £595. It’s not only stylish, it looks so comfortable. With studded detail and casters, so it could be moved around.
A cushion to rest my weary head:
This cushion is from John Lewis by the humorously titled duo of designers ‘Timorous Beasties’ for £90
This decorative cushion captures urban life in London through the uncompromising and provocative eyes of the pair.
Modern Westminster’s iconic skyline is represented with a subversive and dark edge, while the reverse features the silhouette of a solitary man flanked by a television mast and ragged wildlife.
I love it! The dark grey and yellow would look great together, and I’m a big fan of British designers working with their environment for ideas.
Finally something to drink:
I pondered for sometime, discarded Prosecco or a Mojito (I am a responsible parent you know) I wanted to be calm and comforted, so I went for :
Cosy tea Earl Grey, they promise that their organic tea’s make a lovely brew. I also love the design of the boxes, just plain fab!
And finally, a yellow cup:
I like that this represents a more modern traditional feel, I can imagine hugging this cup as I read my book. You can buy saucers, but I like the idea of buying it on it’s own. All the details are here. It is designed by Hanna Tonnek Bonnett and is priced at £26. Every purchase from CultureLabel helps to support the arts.
So what to think, do you want to share this 5 minutes peace with me?
Thank you for reading

I am a tea monster, so love the tea and the cup. I also love the cushion as I am a Rob Ryan fan and the cushion has that sort of feel to it

How wonderful. My mother has several chaise longs and there is nothing prettier to lie on. What a fabulous idea too-we all need cheering up at the start of the week!
