Over the weekend we tested out a CubbyKit. It’s a new service, and the idea is you subscribe to having a box of craft goodies delivered to your door every month for £19.99. I think what it actually delivers is a box full of ideas, so you as a parent haven’t got to do all the research and buying of products. Each box has a theme, and is age appropriate. Either 3-4 or 5-6. and has three craft activities included.
We received our box (addressed to Miss A and looks like a suitcase) who was very excited to be receiving mail. The theme this month is outer space. We received one craft ‘Mushy Martians’ which is a craft where you cook up play dough and then decorate and make it into Martians. All the instructions and materials were included. We added more eyes and pipe cleaners as we were only sent two, and there was lots of dough.
I thought I’d try something new, so made a collage of photographs of our experience.
The girls had great fun, Miss N (9) was in charge of the mixology 😉 and both got their creative juices flowing making the Martians. I think they are supposed to be green, however the food colouring didn’t work in ours so we added pink, to make our family of Rose Martians.
We are a very crafty family, and I always have lots of craft materials, waiting to use. So though I was unsure about whether I would use this service. What I did find invaluable, is the inspiration that it delivers each month. I think playing with your children and having fun, is so beneficial to all the family!
All the details on how to subscribe are explained by following this link. It is really easy to use site, go have a look see what you think!
Thank you for reading

Right….erm… second one in from the right looks like something unmentionable with lolly pop sticks stuck in it? *smirks inappropriately*
Sounds like a great craft idea, but a little pricey? That’s 12 x £19.99 for a year? That’d pay for a lot of playdough.. Great as a one off thing though I’d have thought. You do take and arrange some beautiful photos. I wish I had your knack for that. :O)
Amanda (The Ana Mum Diary) says
That’s the one I did!!! No not really.
I agree, it is on the expensive side, but I think you are paying for more than the craft materials, but the thoughts and ideas behind it, packaging and postage.
We also were only given ONE craft, to review and usually there is three.
Thank you, I think I arranged them beautifully 😉

Also if you buy a yrs supply you only pay £199…so two free months!

I like the fact that the boxes come with scissors, glue, gel pens etc (many of which you can reuse for other activities). Looks like your kids had a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I didn’t receive any of the items that you listed, but I have since read other reviews made by people who received the Full box, and it would seem that you do usually receive much more. I think if I had received the usual box, then I could have completed a fuller review and looked at the value for money.
Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it 🙂

I really, like the photo collage! Great way to display the pictures.
I like your pink marshians though.
The girls look like they had a lot of fun, think it would be interesting to see what a whole box is like..I did read another review that had the whole box but they must have had a different age from you?
Thank you for sharing :o)
