We received fantastic service this week, from a company and so I wanted to highlight it today in a post.
Tall Dad is a bit of a gadget and techie geek, particularly when it comes to HD TV and surround sound. Both our kitchen and living room have full surround sound, and we recently decided to take the plunge and purchase a 3D television for the kitchen!
Ever since home cinema has become widely available, he has become addicted with ensuring that everything is set up correctly, and actually believes that sound is as important as the images.
When we were configuring our new kitchen, my main priority was enough storage space, for all my rubbish important stuff. Tall Dads main priority was ‘where are we going to place the flat screen TV and integrated surround sound speakers?’ …..I know!!
When it comes to purchasing new TV and Hi-Fi gadgets, Tall Dad has only ever used one place. That place is Richer Sounds on Mansfield Road in Nottingham. Although Tall Dad has very good knowledge of the technicalities of modern AV equipment, he goes to Richer Sounds as they always know just that little bit more! Their product knowledge is second to none! He receives the latest newsletter from them with all the latest TV deals HINT: if you follow that link, you can receive the newsletter too!
Another great thing about Richer Sounds, is their Panel Protection (for Televisions) and SuperCare (for anything else). For 10% of the cost of the item, you can purchase a full 5 years warranty for the product. And if you do not use the SuperCare product within the 5 years, then you can get it refunded (does not apply to Panel Protection).
In fact, and this is where we had again received great service from them. Tall Dad recently had to take advantage of the SuperCare he purchased for one of his Onkyo AV Receivers. The display had stopped working. After a quick call to Richer Sounds, he then took the unit to the store, where they then sent it off for repair, and also loaned a replacement unit. The receiver was repaired within 2 weeks.
They could not be more helpful. On one occasion Tall Dad overheard one of the staff even offering to visit a customer on his way home from work, to help set up their new Blu-Ray player, as they didn’t understand how to do it. Going that little bit extra!

I’m afraid we are totally the opposite in this house – could Tall Dad please come round and sort us out? I do always buy from Richer Sounds though – they do know their stuff for sure.
It’s become an obsession in our house. You can see now why our ‘Friday night movie nights’ are so important. Popcorn is a must!

My husband loves Richer Sounds, good quality service for the audiovisual geek. I can’t believe you have a 3D tv in your kitchen though!
My OH even has a huge chaise lounge in there to recline on whilst watching TV!
