This is the second year my peony has flowered. It is the simplest thing, but you have to believe me when I say it brings me so much joy. It’s the most delicate pink. It unfolds from a tight purple bud.
It’s my favourite flower, yes its a bit blousy and showy to some, but to me it is delicate and romantic. I would love to know its name, but I didn’t plant it, the previous owner did. I wonder if they ever got to see it flower, as it didn’t flower for us for the first three years.
I simply love it.
Thank you for reading

Thanks Nikki, it took me a while to take one that didnt have a bug on it. Ants love my peonies!

What a lovely shot of the peony – must admit, it makes me a wee bit homesick as I have four peony bushes in my front garden back in the US. (Ants love our plants, too.)

Didn’t realise you were from the US. I really should plant anouther. I read somewhere there are peony trees!

Makes me realise how lucky I am to have inherited some on my garden. They are amazing and sad in equal measure. Mine got so weather beaten, must support them better next year! Beautiful pic and love the new header 🙂

I k ow what you mean, they flower for such a short period, and they do suffer in the rain and wind 🙁

I thought they were a bit blowsy when we moved into our last house 11 years ago. But, I’ve grown to love them over the years as they came up reliably every year in my garden and brightened it up. No peonies in our new garden, but they are on the list.
