We were in Dorset last month, it was very chilly, but that did not deter us, and we had a bracing walk on the beach. We decided to visit West Bay as the friends we were visiting said it is a perfect location for a walk. They were not wrong, it was gorgeous. It would have been even more perfect if the sun was shining, but we wrapped up warm, and had walked with them and their dog along the huge cliff lined beach.
West Bay, and Bridport, are where Broadchurch (ITV drama) was filmed. It actually comes to its conclusion this evening. I’ve really enjoyed the series, so thought it would make a very different ‘I Love Mondays post. Though there is no shopping involved, it’s a really popular show, and the anticipation of watching it, cheers me up, on a dull Monday morning.
So here are a few of the photographs that I took that day, maybe you can recognise the scenery?
New best friends.
I love this one, of my handsome hubby, Tall Dad.
Don’t miss the conclusion of Broadchurch, if you, like me have been a avid viewer.
Have a fabulous Monday everyone.
I have been hooked on Broadchurch too and have my suspect picked out! Fabulous photographs of a stunning location x
Yes me too Louise, I have one certain one, I am edging my bets on. I’m sure there will be another twist in the tale though!
We holiday In Bridport every year as my great aunt used to live there. I first went when I was 10, then intermittently until about 24, then every year since at least once a year. West Bay is one of my happy places in the world, along with sitting on the Amalfi coast. It’s beautiful and refreshing. Did you go to the tearooms by the big car park? Pete & Sue who run it also own the b&b we stay in! I scattered my great aunt’s ashes off the pier wall, her funeral was four hours after The Boy was born. Off there in a month’s time. Great to see you loved it too.
We did, we did!! We had hot drinks there, to get our fingers moving again 😉 oh how funny! It is a fab place, I’d love to go back when it’s warm. I’m sure we will, as my friends live in a village very near, and we will be going to their wedding, and spending a week there in August. I did another post, recently when we went on a country walk near Martinstown, so gorgeous! I think my friends said the own another cafe as well that they go to? It was a perfect example of a seaside tearoom moving with times, but still traditional…loved it!! Thanks for the comment, you’ve really made me smile 🙂
Wow, stunning photos although I was disappointed not to see David Tennant. The program was amazing and so moving.
Haha, me too!! I loved it, can’t wait to go back.
I love West Bay, and your photos are gorgeous, especially the cliffs (and handsome Tall Dad of course). West Bay beach was also where Reggie Perrin was filmed shedding his past life and swimming out to sea (I know, showing my age here!) xx
Hello Molly! Thank you so much, it was a fab morning. I didn’t know that’s where that scene from RP was filmed! Hope you are well M xx
I clearly missed a treat! Stunning pictures Amanda, esp that cliff shot! Looks like an amazing day 🙂
I love that one, it really is a huge cliff face! We had a fab time. Thanks for comment x
We’ve been watching too and the scenery has reminded us of our holiday there too – nearly 2 years ago now. Loved both the series and the places.
