I am really very excited to be reviewing the Colour Wow range. Its due to be stocked in Space NK in July, and really has a fantastic reputation in coloured hair care and maintenance.
Colour Wow : Background
Developed by the beauty innovator Gail Federici and the internationally acclaimed hairdresser John Frieda. Now I am, and will always be a user a Frizz Ease (my top hair product) and it is the same team around John Frieda that has developed this range. You can now see why I am so excited to try the products.
I was sent the ground breaking Root Cover Up and the Colour Security Shampoo and Conditioner.
Colour Security Shampoo is a non-sulfate formula which cleanses without causing color to fade. Unlike typical sulfate-free shampoos, Color Security produces a rich, creamy lather. The Conditioner, also uses a very special formula, that conditions and detangles without dulling, and darkening your blonde hair. I loved both of these, I am actually due to have another colour on my hair, so I think I’m going to save the rest of the bottle, to use on freshly coloured hair, and see if this improves the longevity of my colour.
The root cover up (£28.50) comes in a very swish palate form, and is a way in which you can hide, or retouch up your roots. As someone who has highlights on my hair, I really wanted to try this out, as it really is annoying especially if you have something special to do, and you realise you should really have had your roots done weeks before – please tell me I’m not alone on this.
Here is a video to see the product in action :
Apply to dry hair
- Camouflage roots instantly
- Colour hair less often

I have tried it a few times now, on the very front of my hair, as for some reason my hair grows quicker (and is greyer) there, and it really worked a treat. You do have to almost press the powder in, I think its important to note that. Its great for those hair emergencies!

A really nifty product! I was just reading a blog about ‘chalking’ hair with ordinary chalk, all different colours. It looked really good, would never have even thought about it!
