The summer holiday season has started in many places now…we have another looong hot week still until the children break up.
I have been asked a few times about products that I would recommend to take on holiday so I though I would do a couple of posts, with my essentials for a holiday wash bag.
First up, the children! Of course I would include things like wipes, they get so messy don’t they? I would also include a high SPF sun cream, I would recommend Ultrasun, which has so many different types available, including ones that you only need to apply once a day. If you at the beach, another tip is baby powder, putting some of this on after a trip to the beach will help get rid of any unwanted sand on the skin.
However top of my list to pack is Childs Farm : Top to Toe Cleaning Kit. I have reviewed Childs farm products before on the blog. I am so impressed, I think the size of these are perfect for holiday at 3 x 100ml each. Included in the pack is the bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner. The pack is priced at £9.35 and is available now in stores such as John Lewis, Ocado and Harrods. For more information, or to purchase on line visit www.childsfarm.com
Holiday Essentials for ME!
Next up is a trio of products by Aromatherapy Associates.
1. Cleansing Balm : Soothing
This is a great one, to wipe away the day and make-up on your face and neck. Especially if your face is feeling sensitive from a little too much sun. A blend of Omega rich oils ensure that your skin is cleansed and hydrated, while liquorice and camomile leave your skin feeling calm and soothed.
Warm the balm in the palm of the hands and apply over face and neck using gentle circular movements. Rinse off with warm water. Follow with skin tonic, serum, face oil and moisturiser.
2. Support Breath Essence How about this for when you are on the aeroplane. Aeroplanes are full of airborne bugs, just a few drops onto a tissue, which you inhale regularly throughout your flight. It is said to ward off unwanted viruses and keep you feeling refreshed, and clearing your sinuses. I cant wait to test this out, but for now I have been using it to help my blocked sinus with all this hayfever, and its brilliant!
A refreshing, antibacterial inhalation essence. Eucalyptus, peppermint and tea-tree lend their soothing properties to maintain clear breathing.
3. Relax Body Wash
We all want to relax on holiday, a change of scene and maybe a little me time. Whether you work, or are busy day to day caring for a child, or both! It can take some time to actually feel relaxed and unwind on holiday. I would like to recommend this product, as the perfect relaxation aid. I am a great fan of Aromatherpy Associates, and have seen first hand the effects of their products. Use in the shower or bath, the restful powers of lavender, petitgrain and vetivert to unwind you after a busy day.
finally…..
1. Lip Ointment with colour
I try to get away with minimal make-up when I am away, but this is one of my essentials. The above Lanolips Lip colour is very aptly named ‘Sunshine’ another of my favourites is ‘Rhubarb’. They are perfect for the summer, as they give lots of hydration, SPF of 15 and beautiful pigment colour. I love it as its does not go sticky in the heat, just feels moisturising and gives a glossy look to the lips.
Dermatalogically tested. All Lanolips products are animal cruelty free, and Ultra Pure Grade Lanolin.
2. Herbal Treatment Oil
When you have been in the sun all day and you need to moisturise you skin, I would highly recommend this product. It is perfect (and safe) to use in pregnancy, but I have been using it to moiturise my body, after I have been in the garden in this mini heatwave we have been having. I can’t believe the difference it has made to my upper arms and legs especially, which are very dry usually.
It has Pine Oil
Gives you balanced, smooth & glossy skin.
Gently breaks down dead skin, acting as a natural exfoliant.
Helps eliminate odour caused by bacteria.
and…Eucalypyus oil
Has a soothing effect on the skin.
Is known to visibly reduce redness & skin irritation.
So this is the first instalment of what’s in my holiday wash bag, I shall be doing another next week, with some more items that I recommend. If you have any specific items you would like to request, let me know and if I know the answer I will try to include it next week.
Thank you for reading
