Waking up to views like this, blew me away!
When I have been chatting to other people about cruising, the question I have heard the most is ”but what is there to do on a cruise…will I be bored?”. So this is a post about some of the things I did, or saw whilst I spent a day on board the Liberty of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. It is by no means an exhaustive list, because some things I have covered in my blog post about things to on board with children HERE. Also to be honest, it changed daily, with lots of different unique events put on each day. The best thing about being on any holiday, is the day is yours, you can be as active, or relaxed as YOU want to be, and cruising allows you this option, perfectly.
It starts from the moment you open your eyes. The views each morning were stunning!
I had room service a couple of times in my room, as I left the ship at 7am to go out on shore excursions. This was my breakfast though, when I was able to relax and enjoy the buffet breakfast at at the Jade and Windjammer Cafe, every type of breakfast food you could think of. This was definitely my favourite way to have breakfast!
I loved that it gave me time in the mornings, to take advantage of the light, and take photographs like this.
I was incredibly impressed by the gym on board, the Liberty of the Seas, even down to a boxing ring!
Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to use it, as I completely forgot my gym kit. 😉
Relax and unwind in the spa. I had the best pamper whilst I was there, with shellac nails, that are still perfect today two weeks afterwards, and a fire and ice pedicure…amazing!
I shared my fingernails on Instagram :
Then treated myself to some ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s.
I have mentioned previously that each evening you receive the Cruise Compass in your room when it is turned down. It’s from here you can plan your day, or just plan to relax! There are games, dance and art classes, even lesson on the art of gaming in the casino. So you can also do organised activities.
One of my favourite ways to relax, was to get my swimsuit on, jump in the warm jacuzzi and admire the view. You can swim in the pool, or get involved in the games in this area too.
I also walked all the way around the ship outside, to take in the view and get some exercise.
So this was my relaxing day on board the ship, I am also going to cover the evenings too, as that gives a whole different flavour to cruising, so watch this space!

So now where’s the part where you tell me how completely affordable a Caribbean cruise for a family of 3 adults and 3 children is – because I really want to go. Hope you had a marvellous time – what a shame you forgot your gym kit – I bet that meant you had to spend more time being pampered didn’t it.

I think if you wait last minute there are some great discounts you know. I must cost it all up though, in my last post, to give an idea good point. Hehe, I may have accidentally on purpose forgotten it 😉

That pool with view looks absolutely amazing. I think that would be my favourite place on the entire ship.
