Last year, I bought a Christmas tree from John Lewis, its one of the twig style ones. I decorated it, with some of my most treasured and favourite decorations. I was so happy with the result, as it looked more individual I thought that most Christmas trees.
I really love this sparse, but sparkly tree, perhaps a little too much, as it has been up all year round. Before you shake you head at my tardiness, I did as any lifestyle blogger would do, and coordinated it with my room and filled it with teal coloured hearts. To be honest, it was slightly mad, and ever so slightly over the top but it was tucked away in a really boring corner of the living room, and it always made me smile.
So this year, I wanted to do something completely different with it for Christmas. So with my new toy, the Cricut Mini (You can see how I made a simple Christmas card using the mini, and a review of the Cricut Mini HERE) and some pouches, I had bought last year I made some advent bags.
I used a spare sheet of card I had, and the free numbers available in the Cricut craft room, and cut out 1-24. I used double-sided strong sticky tape to attach them, adding chocolate coins or candy canes.
As well as some Advent promises to the bags.
Then using the bags as decoration, I evenly spread them on the tree. I just need to find the right spot for it now, I’m thinking the hall was, as it lights up so will look pretty when we have visitors.

How sweet! I love the idea of attaching little notes too. You are tempting me to try and make my own calender for the children – if I end up gluing myself to the table I’m blaming you X
