Easter really wouldn’t be Easter without some Chocolate nests. So quick and easy to make, and a great one to do in the Easter holidays with the children. My girls wanted to do them all by themselves, whilst I was making lunch so they could have them for dessert.
As you know I am a Center Parcs Family Blogger, and we had been tasked with making some sweet or savoury nests for this months challenge. So here is our recipe:
You will need:
- 50g unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 80g milk chocolate buttons (they are easier to melt for children)
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 4 Shredded Wheat bars (crushed well)
- mini eggs or jelly beans to decorate
Simply add the butter, cocoa powder, syrup and buttons in a bowl, and warm over simmering water. Once they have melted allow to cool a little and add the crushed shredded wheat. It needs a really good mix, before the children divide between the paper cases. I think it works well in the smaller cases, as with this recipe they are very chocolatey and sweet.
Chief Creative Chef, Lynn Dixon (from Center Parcs) suggested the crushed wheat, as I must admit we usually use rice crispies for ours.
